Hitting the road from the Idea Warehouse on their 2012 Rock-O-Matic tour, the Imagination Movers bring the music and fun of their Emmy-winning Disney Channel show to the stage of Oakdale Theatre. The four-piece band of problem solvers plays kid-friendly tunes in a wide range of energetic styles, from rock and pop to ska and funk. Clad in blue jumpsuits, Dave, Rich, Smitty, and Scott launch into the brassy, bouncy introduction of the Imagination Movers theme song, followed by a set list punctuated with opportunities for audience interaction for the kids, musical references to U2, Jack Johnson, and other famous bands for the parents, and onstage silliness for crying clowns.
Film buffs across six states stare wide-eyed at large cinema screens, losing themselves in first-run Hollywood movies and the smell of fresh, buttery kernels within Your Neighborhood Theatre's 17 locations. Though all theaters prioritize comfortable seating, old-fashioned friendly service, and high-stakes preshow trivia slideshows, each location encompasses its own distinct charm, be it through arthouse décor, 3-D screens, or Rhode Island's vintage 1950's drive-in setting.
As the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, the Rock Cats clubhouse is baseball's equivalent of an arboretum, blossoming in the summer with big-league-ready talent while nurturing future pros, a laundry list of baseball all-stars that has previously included Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, David Ortiz, and Torii Hunter. Following the frenetic lead of Rocky, a full roster of mascots entices eyes with various forms of family-friendly entertainment throughout each game. An extra dose of off-the-field entertainment can also be savored inside the ballpark's Fun Zone, where fans test their skills by smacking baseballs in a homerun derby, throwing fastballs with speed pitch, or swinging an oversize hot dog to prepare for the day when professional baseball decides all bats must be meat-based.
