The team members at Soldierfit are just like anyone else?dads and moms, sons and daughters, neighbors and friends. Where they set themselves apart, though, is at the gym. At Soldierfit, this tight-knit group carves out a community of likeminded folks who pursue both the physical and intangible benefits of fitness. Confidence, camaraderie, and character are all natural byproducts of Soldierfit classes, which are heavily rooted in intense military-style workouts. During sessions, exercisers must overcome any number of challenges, from drills and calisthenics to body weight exercises and weight training.
Though athletic performance-analyzing computers and state-of-the-art resistance training gear abound at FX Studios?thanks in part to their partnership with Under Armour?that's only part of the way they help clients. They're also staffed by a team of trainers that come from diverse backgrounds and carry a variety of certifications, which helps FX Studios cater to clients of all ages with a range of fitness goals in mind. Some of these experts lead on-site or at-home personal-training sessions, which use goal-oriented custom fitness programs to build muscle and burn calories. The personal training program allows burgeoning athletes to step outside their homes or office to engage in sessions tailored for their fitness needs. The studio also brings participants together in group classes that include cardio-intensive boot camp and Boxing Fundamentals, which teaches strike combinations and conditioning strategies, such as imagining the punching bag as your least favorite vegetable.
Fit Body Boot Camp instructors guide clients toward their fitness and weight-loss goals at locations throughout the world. They lead group workouts that integrate cardio exercise with resistance training and weight training, keeping sessions varied in order to avoid disheartening plateaus. Nutritional guidance supplements tailored fitness programs to ensure that clients are properly fueled to lose, gain, or maintain their weight.
Certified fitness trainer Tony Osondu believes in his clients. He also believes in their ability to get into great shape and maintain it, even if they've never worked out before. At his intense boot camp sessions held in the lower level of Timonium's Interactive Fitness, he leads gymgoers of all skill levels through a focused and heart-pounding workout that blends strength training, cardio, and core work.
The goal is muscle confusion—making sure that the body doesn't get used to any particular movement—which helps prevent boredom. In any one session, boot campers might be pushing giant tractor wheels, racing each other, or jumping onto boxes to work on explosive power or an upcoming community theater role as King Kong. On top of his fitness work, Tony also offers personal training and nutritional coaching, which helps motivate and support his clients as they work towards their fitness goals.
