The staff at Propark know that time spent scouring for scarce parking spaces is time better spent. Comprising 400 locations across 13 states, the parking-lot-management company aims to reduce time spent searching as much as possible. It oversees the day-to-day operation for lots at high-traffic locales such as hospitals, train stops, and urban garages, ensuring the vehicles left at each remain safe and sound. Each location participates in a company-wide commitment to green parking practices through the use of eco-friendly shuttle buses and recycling programs.
During his frequent travels, entrepreneurship professor Bill Guerro noticed both the high cost of airport parking and the congested drop-off area at the local terminal. Noticing a vacant lot on campus, Bill wanted to marry available resources to the situation, and brought his idea to one of his classes. Students crafted a business plan for a discount airport parking service that would also benefit the community by returning profits to the students and campus of the university. Offering short- and long-term service at reasonable rates, Purchase Park 2 Fly remains an extension of the university, and Phil Sanford—one of the students in Bill's initial entrepreneurship class—continues to serve the project as marketing coordinator. Profits help support Purchase College through scholarships and capital enhancements to roadways, facilities, and gold-plated foam fingers.
Jay Leno and Ralph Lauren may each own a lot of cars, but their fleets are nothing compared to the number of vehicles Impark Parking must protect in a single day. The company operates more than 2,000 parking facilities in 34 cities throughout North America, from Atlanta to Baltimore to Winnipeg. That accounts for nearly half a million parking spots in total, a far cry from the single lot that Impark?then known as Imperial Parking?started out with. Today, more than 50 years later, it operates as a fully integrated company with expertise in garage management, carbon neutral practices, and recycling.

LIFE The Place to Be is like a chameleon in the form of a giant 25,000-square-foot building. The space can serve many different purposes: a venue for weddings, the site of Sweet 16 parties, and a fun center with activities for all ages. Aside from the event space?which incorporates amenities such as projection screens and a sound system?the facility houses a rock-climbing wall, four mini AMF bowling alleys, and 3,000 square feet of arcade games.
