Soothing music and soft lights reveal The Yoga Sanctuary as just that—a safe and peaceful place where guests can cast stress aside. The studio's nationally registered instructors weave their global teaching experience into each asana as they strive for—and teach the importance of—inner peace and tranquility. They work individually with guests of all ages and fitness levels, unlike the NFL and most quilting circles. With this inclusive approach, the instructors help clients unite mind, body, and spirit in a wide selection of classes, strengthen cores with Pilates exercises, and also teach postures for beginner, intermediate, and experienced students. To further the restorative effects of yoga, the studio also hosts yoga therapy sessions to help alleviate such health issues as back pain and insomnia.
The Yoga Sanctuary's onsite massage therapist intuitively customizes her kneads and strokes to reduce stress and fatigue. This can also improve joint flexibility so that guests may easily slip into complex postures or cast-iron wetsuits.
Personal Training Institute built its approach to fitness upon 30 years of medical and scientific research. Designed by exercise physiologists and nutrition experts, the one-on-one programs aim to produce maximum results for each individual’s body type and lifestyle. The staff supplements all of its training with nutritional guidance, further helping clients reach their personal goals—whether they be weight loss, increased strength, or simply improving overall health and stamina.
A pioneer of brain education and president of the Korean Institute of Brain Sciences, Ilchi Lee folded his studies into the design of his own Dahn Yoga, equal parts traditional asana and neuroscience research. A typical session begins with a simple tapping of the lower abdomen to gather chi energy that would otherwise get absorbed by Bagel Bites swallowed whole. Sessions launch into an exercise routine that combines aspects of yoga and tai chi to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. Next, yogis cool down and focus energy during an active form of meditation called Brain Wave Vibration, the studio's specialty, that harnesses flowing movements in an attempt to align minds and bodies. After the physical segment, workouts shift into a meditative portion that infuses cardiovascular systems with a stream of purifying oxygen through deep breathing.
If you want to be motivated by the trainers at APOGEE Fitness & Wellness, you have two choices. You can either sign up for a one-on-one personal training session or attend a group class such as Pilates, yoga, Zumba, or TRX suspension training. In addition to those fitness services, the center schedules spa treatments such as massages and reflexology, which feel extra nice after a tough workout where you sweat to cardio movements or hit the Pilates mat.
Embarking on a mission to enhance the quality of life for each student, the instructors at Premier Pilates & Yoga lead a full schedule of fitness classes that launch participants toward their fitness goals. Instructors with more than ten years of experience, lead groups of up to six students stretch their limbs and synchronize their breathing while practicing either Ashtanga, Restorative, Gentle, Kripalu, Hatha or Vinyasa yoga techniques, which improve strength, balance, flexibility, and the ability to limbo under a closing garage door. 55-minute Pilates mat and circuit classes focus on toning muscles and strengthening the core through a series of controlled elongated movements that work on stretching various joints. For more intense muscle building and a healthy dose of variety, the studio also hosts Get F.I.T. boot-camp classes, kettle-bell, and TRX training. Workout sessions run seven days a week during the day and the evening.
Glow Yoga's experienced instructors guide yogis through the energizing, flowing movements of Vinyasa yoga. Students of all experience levels can sidle into one of Glow's classes and get to work melting away stress and increasing strength and flexibility, which improves overall health and sidling ability. Pop into the one-hour heated Vinyasa class, which blends breath work with vigorous, creative yoga postures to revitalize and heal the body, or try out the unheated A.M. Flow class, perfectly timed to wake up sleepyheads and not-quite-awake toes. Bend-and-stretchers can improve rapidly with the hands-on adjustments of the Align & Flow class, become more aware of posture with Gentle Yoga's asana focus, or take poses to the next level in the Intermediate Vinyasa session.
