The people you talk to every day are typically the people who affect your life the most, like your spouse, your best friend, or, if you work out at Boot Camp Hawaii, your trainer. To encourage accountability, many of its trainers keep in daily contact with their clients via phone, email, and text. When not corresponding, trainers lead ever-changing boot-camp workouts that encompass cardio, interval training, and core strengthening, allowing clients to get more toned and finally stop hiding a washboard under their shirts. They also lead private personal-training sessions, and have coached student and professional athletes as well as soldiers.
For a more comprehensive wellness plan, the fitness instructors complement their boot camps and yoga sessions with nutrition advice. Boot Camp Hawaii’s nutritionist offers weight-management assistance, nutrition classes, and custom meal plans.
Eddie Clattenburg, always a fitness aficionado, competed on sports teams throughout his childhood and adolescence before studying exercise science at Arizona State and playing for their football team. When injuries forced him to end his football career, he resolved to stick with his passion by coaching and training. He successfully sought certifications as a personal trainer, a CrossFit Level 1 trainer, and a Level 1 Sports Performance coach while training more than 10,000 clients.
Today, Clattenburg continues to help students improve their physical fitness during personal training sessions and classes held in his own private training studio. E C Fitness's 2,400-square-foot facility abounds with TRX suspension training machines, medicine balls, and Olympic platforms, along with fully equipped locker rooms and showers. Clattenburg personally leads private training sessions, tailoring each of his lessons to accommodate the student's personal goals, whether they seek weight loss, enhanced sports performance, or muscle training. Throughout the week, intimate groups of up to 12 students sweat through high-intensity Warrior classes that last an hour each, which is as long as it takes to whittle a totem pole with a butter knife.
Team Move's instructors specialize in private and group training sessions. The collective—which takes its name from the motto "motivating others via exercise"—offers group fitness classes such as yoga and its signature Move camp. Routines are supplemented by equipment, such as resistance bands and weighted balls, for best results. All classes are held outside on the beach; Wednesday classes can stay for sunset, while Saturday classes are invited early for sunrise. Customers are also encouraged to gather groups and create their own class schedules and workout routines.
At locations throughout the world, Egan's Fit Body Bootcamp instructors, including owner and world champion in multiple sports Egan Inoue, share a common goal: to guide clients toward their fitness and weight-loss goals through regimented training programs. Trainers lead group workouts that integrate cardio with resistance training, strength training, and light alligator wrestling. They design the workouts to be time efficient and varied, avoiding workout plateaus that may leave clients uninspired. In addition to motivating clients to work their bodies, trainers also empower them with healthy eating guidelines.
