Home Services in Hawaii

Select Local Merchants

Certified by The IICRC, MD Cleaning & Restoration began in 2002 as a residential cleaning company, soon expanding its services to include everything from carpet cleaning to 24-hour emergency water extraction. After such damaging floods, a tag-team duo comprised of an indoor environmentalist and a microbial investigator can monitor and maintain healthy living conditions by expunging harmful bacteria and mold. MD Cleaning & Restoration is also a licensed general contractor, repairing and remodeling homes or offices and demolishing hazardous M.C. Escher staircases.

Island Treasures works to bedeck bare walls, shelves, and laser-guarded pedestals around the area with original artwork from about 125 local artisans. Add an air of culture to a home by hanging a few 4”x6” paintings ($20) from a ceiling fan, or add some prismatic pizazz to the den, bedroom, or teleportation chamber with a matted print from one of dozens of artists ($10–$25). Store explorers will also find toys, books, one-of-a-kind knick-knacks, and fashionable accessories. Beaded bracelets and necklaces ($8–$20) from the Island Treasures jewelry chest improve wardrobes, and scented sachets ($8 each) freshen any area with the smell of flowers. Guests can use aloha-print napkins to sop up spilled sauce at a luau ($16) or decorate a coffee table with a 48-inch Hawaiian-print table runner ($24). Like a mad scientist building a hot-rod Frankenstein’s monster, the store adds new items on a weekly basis.

The pastry chefs at Regal Bakery work hard to never stop surprising their customers, whether with bold new donut flavors, such as rocky road, berryblast, and green tea, or brand new foodie trends. Hot on the trail of the cronut craze, they created their own version of a croissant-donut and even experimented with bite-sized croissant morsels, dubbed “crototts,” which can be dipped in chocolate sauce, azuki bean crème anglaise, or bronze to put atop crotott-eating trophies. According to a profile of the bakery in the “Dining Out” section of the Star Advertiser, Regal Bakery stocks more than 20 donut flavors at a time and revives popular flavors from their past on Throwback Wednesdays.
