When it was founded in 1987, Frame Central was a social hub for artists, and was even curiously named for facial hair. However, Beard Outlet has since morphed into a seven-location franchise, dedicated to simplifying the framing process. The shops’ onsite stock of matboard, frame moulding, and other key supplies ensures speedy DIY framing projects—which visitors can complete in an hour—and single-day professional framing. An array of pre-framed mirrors and artwork allows shoppers to enhance their blank walls without taping a napping friend to them. Shoppers can also stock up on framing supplies such as case glass and hanging hardware.

There is no time limit for each session. Q&A with Mahssa Hashemi, Owner and Director Describe a time your services really changed a client's life for the better. We have only been open for three months, and I have already seen the some of our little artists 20?30 times, and they have grown so much as creative artists. With art being taken out of schools more and more, children feel a loss in their creative outlet. Young at Art creates a studio where artists can use their imagination and truly be involved in a hands-on experience. Art is also a great way for our artists to show self-expression and to have it created in an art piece that they can take home. As an art advocate, I love seeing how much art and our studio have created a community of artists that are constantly exploring and expressing themselves with the world of art. What's one tip for first-time customers that will make them feel like regulars? Have your little artist in clothes that you don't mind them getting a little paint on. All of our paint is washable and nontoxic, but it's always nice when you don't have to worry at all how their clothes will look once they leave the studio. When and how did you first develop a passion for your work? In 2005, I received my BA in art and performance, and in 2010, I received my master of arts in teaching from Willamette University. I have always had a passion for the arts and enriching children's lives.Thankfully, I now have a career that incorporates both. I'm very excited in sharing all that I have learned in the world of art with our community of little artists. Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover? Our studio is constantly changing and bringing in new artistic activities. Being innovative and ever-changing is one thing that our customers really appreciate. It helps to continue to expand our artists creativity.

A small group of artists walks past racks of tassels, fringes, and beads, dragging fingers gently across the myriad textures of more than 2,000 bolts of fabric. The Instock Fabrics show room wraps and rolls a rainbow of textiles and accessories that beg to be converted into slipcovers, drapes, or a friend for a lonely kite that keeps trashing the house. Tags from popular brands, such as Covington, Waverly, and Braemore, dapple the aisles, and a gallery for custom orders parades more than 20,000 additional fabrics, distinct trims, and pieces of hardware. After perusing swatches for a bedspread or a pillowcase, patrons can suss out the tablecloth situation or utilize a set of precut curtains as a vine-style swing to perfect their Tarzan bellow.
