Upon entering Husted's Hazel Dell Lanes, visitors are greeted with 24 sleek lanes, which may or may not be glowing, depending on the day of the week. Mondays through Thursdays showcase regular bowling fun, but the whole place lights up on Fridays and Saturdays as laser lights and music create a party-like atmosphere for Thunder Alley, Husted's version of cosmic bowling. In between games, bowlers can visit the Cedar Room Lounge for cocktails and karaoke or hop over to the pro shop for advice about proper form and what to do if your ball doesn't have any holes. Those looking for a quick bite can also grab snacks at the 2nd Addition bar and grill.

The recently renovated Hollywood Bowl, enchants guests with polished corridors and automated scorekeeping. On Thursday–Saturday nights starting at 9:30 p.m., both locations activate their black lights and ample supply of firefly essence for cosmic bowling, when rollers negotiate tricky splits in a kaleidoscopic environment. At Hollywood Bowl, guests can enjoy burgers and beers at Club Hollywood Sports Bar in the glow of 14 47-inch TVs. Both locations also boast their own arcade room, where players can compete in classic games such as Frogger, skee-ball, and seeing who can carve a marble bust of a Roman emperor the fastest.

Across nearly three-fourths of the United States, AMF Bowling Co. reverberates year-round as families, friends, and competitors send bowling balls in search of upright pins careening down slick lanes. The company first established itself as an industry leader in 1946, the same year the sport introduced automated pinspotters.

Today, more than 20 million bowlers annually make AMF their battleground for wars against pins. As the largest owner and and operator of bowling centers in the US, AMF locations offer high-tech scoring technology, a classic design, and a menu stocked with American-inspired classics such as wings, pizzas, burgers, and beer.

No matter if you're a serious league player or a kid learning how to bowl, PinbustterZ Family Fun Center has a lane that suits your needs. That's because the alley features 16 full-scale lanes where adults can refine their aim and curve-ball throwing, while the nearby cosmic alley keeps kids occupied. These glow-in-the-dark lanes are shortened so that growing arms can send balls whirring all the way to the pins without the hinderance of gutters or sand traps. In the nearby arcade, kids can further develop hand-eye coordination as they toss balls into skee balls machines, try their skills at Frogger, or braid their tickets into a friendship shirt.

Toppling pins tumble across 24 Pro Anvil synthetic rollways at Mt. Hood Lanes as lip-smacking aromas from a full-service restaurant beckon bowlers. Brunswick Vector Plus touchscreens ease the hassles of pencil-and-paper scoring, and automatic bumpers at every lane can ascend to facilitate family-wide bowl-offs and safe passage for wayward bobsled teams. Suds and spirits from the smoke-free Lava Lounge wet whistles as cheesy pizzas, classic sandwiches, and hearty breakfast fare from the café’s menu fill empty bellies. Karaoke crooners’ dulcet caterwauls echo through the space Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, drowning out the typing of customers taking advantage of the alley’s free WiFi.
