The staff members at Sylvan Learning's numerous study facilities understand that each child learns differently. Therefore, they don’t try to implement a uniform tutoring system; instead, they design custom lesson programs based on the results of standardized testing, diagnostic tools, and one-on-one interviews.
Tutors work with students from kindergarten through grade 12, illuminating topics ranging from basic reading and writing to remembering complex algebraic formulas without having them tattooed on your chest. Many of Sylvan’s instructors work in local schools, so they are intimately familiar with common curricula and understand how to gear lessons toward optimal results. After-school and summer classes can ready high-schoolers for the rigors of the ACT or the SAT, or they can help students to wow college-admissions officers with their superior essay-writing skills.
Tanya's Photography is a private business that works completely around your schedule. There is only one photographer. As that photographer I would love to be apart of that special moment in your history, that you will cherish for years to come. I don't have a studio so the pictures are taken at a location of your choosing.
Teaching Zumba seemed like the perfect union of passions for Gwen Hernandez. A trained dancer with more than 13 years of experience in ballet, tap, and jazz and a self-proclaimed lover of Latin culture since the first grade, Gwen joined these interests and became licensed in Zumba to share her penchant for fitness with others. During classes, she uses upbeat Latin music and dance combinations to help clients burn calories and tone their bods in a fun, energetic, and supportive atmosphere. As a licensed Zumba instructor, she is qualified to teach basic Zumba, ZumbAtomic for kids, and Zumba core classes. She also makes herself available for parties and other occasions, for which she can bring her skills and fitness routines directly to clients’ homes.

When Jennifer Lemmons was choosing a name for her business, she decided to combine the names of two of her favorite things: Lorelei, her grandmother, and pralines, a delicious treat that inspires fond memories of her childhood. At Lorelines, she and her crew smother North Carolina pecans with their signature slow-cooked buttery caramel to craft authentic pralines just like the ones Jennifer used to enjoy during trips to her grandmommy’s house. Though pralines are the specialty, they also whip up other confections ranging from chestnut pralines and chocolate-covered espresso beans to peanut brittle, chocolate-covered sea-salt caramels, and coconut-apricot pralines.
