Elite Training Center’s chief instructor Brian Rauchbach and his fellow instructors have applied their training in Krav Maga, mixed martial arts, and kickboxing within professional fields such as law enforcement as well as U.S. and International Elite Special Forces. Rauchbach peppers his lessons with pragmatic insights on close-quarters combat gleaned while working as a private security contractor and training alongside elite counterterrorism units overseas.
Beyond the practical aspects of fighting, the studio's instructors put a premium on self-respect, discipline, and the ability to savor a bag of Oreos over an entire month. Students, ranging from kids to police officers, forge inner strength as they pound heavy bags, target pads, and focus mitts.
Here at L.A. Budo, we are here to help you reach your highest potential. Whether it be learning self-defense, getting in the best shape of your life, building confidence, or just training in for fun. We have it all! No attitudes. Martial Arts the most powerful to create positive change
Director and owner Michelle Bolong, a former Cirque du Soleil performer and tae kwon do champion, leads a band of professional aerialist instructors who help students gracefully tone bodies while gaining inner strength and discipline. Classes combine elements such as martial arts, pilates, and acrobatic conditioning using static trapeze and cirque-style fabrics for adults and children ages five and up. The 2,800-square-foot training facility features a state-of-the-art professional sprung floor, also known as a floating floor or Mr. Bouncy Ground, to provide a high level of shock absorption.
During his childhood in West Africa, Amen Iseghohi learned life lessons from two main sources: his grandmother and the tires in his backyard. His grandmother taught him that the spiritual and physical are intertwined, and his workouts with tires supported her theory. By persevering when their weight exhausted him, he learned the importance of soldiering on even when a task seemed impossible, a lesson that has stayed with him through his workouts and beyond.
Nowadays, at his Phoenix and Manhattan Beach fitness studios, Amen imparts these same lessons to Americans with minimalist workouts that are accessorized only by his childhood nemesis: tires. These particular tires, which are meticulously cleaned, build strength, speed, flexibility, and balance, as well as teach the most important skill of all—the ability to defend yourself against on out-of-control tire swing. Amenzone Fitness also offers the opportunity for fitness fans to join the Training Tour for LIfe, hitting cities across Southwest including Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tucson, and Chandler. The Training for LIfe tour hosts fitness events featuring DJ-spun music, back-to-the-basics workouts, and opportunities to give to the Amenzone Foundation, supporting the fight against childhood obesity.
At Live In Fit, Alycia Sumlin-Lyrse and her team of certified trainers take a benevolent approach to fitness classes. The team uses spirituality and integrity as motivating forces to achieve physical health and believe that being good examples of fitness themselves is the best way to get their students motivated to change their lives. Accordingly, their boot camps and circuit-training classes eschew the harsh yelling and humiliating diary reading of typical routines for positive reinforcement and friendly encouragement. The fitness gurus will even travel to places of business and customize workout programs for employees to help banish sick days and boost productivity.
