Most salons don’t have a kitchen table in the middle of the room. Then again, most salons don’t serve caviar. This luxurious appetizer is the namesake of Caviar Hair Studio & Spa and is available with several of the treatment packages, accompanied by sparkling glasses of champagne. Amidst the polished chrome and sleek leather of the salon’s treatment chairs, a team of six stylists, all Paul Mitchell-trained, beautify and soothe clients with an assortment of services. Locks bask in highlights, scalp treatments, and updos, and a fleet of massage modalities—such as deep tissue, hot stone, and Swedish—assist shoulders and backs in releasing tension more effectively than shouting obscenities out of their deltoid muscles.
Germantown Day Spa blends salon, spa, and medical services to beautify clients with traditional and advanced treatments. In the salon, Michael Karg, who cut his chops cutting hair for runway models and celebrities, treats clients to hair services, while other technicians provide nailcare, waxing, and professional makeup. In the tranquil spa, deft hands melt away tension with massages, and facials and body wraps induce relaxation while boosting the beauty of each recipient. The medical-aesthetics team also skillfully serves clients with treatments that range from wrinkle-correcting injectables and fat-reducing Liposonix sessions to laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, and spider-vein removal.

The aestheticians at Esthetiques Skin Spa have all long held an interest in skincare, even dating back to childhood for one pro who gave herself mud-pie facials. While mud is conveniently left off the menu, the team does unfurl Intraceuticals products, glycolic-acid peels, and a Nuface microcurrent toning device to revitalize tired mugs and combat acne, sun spots, and fine lines. They also adorn fresh canvases with spray tans that leave bodies looking bronzed and beautiful.
Gould's Academy was voted the city's best day spa and best hair salon in 2013 by the Memphis Flyer, and Commercial Appeal. Aestheticians re-earn these commendations with ever facial and body treatment they perform, using proven products such as Murad.
More than 20 years ago, Christy Bobo got her start in the hair industry in a little salon. She worked there for a long time, observing the owner's successes and mistakes, formulating a plan on how she might someday run her own business. She got the chance, eventually purchasing the salon where she started and renaming it Salon Be.
To round out her list of services, Christy joins forces with friend and fellow veteran hairstylist Bjorna Brantley, who specializes in cuts and colors. "At Salon Be, all cuts are specialty cuts," Bjorna says. She always consults with clients before touching scissors or foil to make sure they agree on every little detail. When the client arrives for the service, she dives right in, ensuring a succinct visit that fits neatly into busy schedules or temporary lulls in car chases.
