Matt Alva grew up in the Rocky Mountains, hiking, climbing, and pursuing other outdoor adventure sports. When life took him away from the peaks of his hometown, he turned to triathlons to fulfill his desire for intense, exciting athletics. He became invested in the triathlon community, and wanted to give back to it by helping others improve their performance. So he earned a certification as a healthcare executive, and began coaching aspiring triathletes through Tri-Fit Coaching.
To lead athletes to success, Matt offers both performance testing and on-going training, building his clients' regimens using scientific methods. He first tests their efficiency of oxygen consumption with VO2 Max testing and their resting metabolic rate. Based on this data, he creates target numbers for clients to hit during their workouts, such as exercise durations and heart rates. This method helps to best ensure rapid, effective improvement in their athletic ability, but may not effect the amount of sweating experienced during a surprise math test.
Camp Gladiator founder Ally Davidson’s childhood obsession with the outdoors and sports led her to pursue a degree in exercise physiology. After her 2008 win on the TV show American Gladiators, Ally decided to share her love of fitness with the world at large. Camp Gladiator reflects Ally's passion for fitness in its mission, which espouses their desire "to positively impact the physical fitness and ultimately the lives of as many people as possible." During Camp Gladiator Total Transformation, participants lose weight and gain energy in a friendly, positive environment.
