A deep breath of fresh air awaits at Putts & More, where a green and tranquil setting fosters family-friendly recreation. Leafy bushes flourish around the runways of an 18-hole course where players focus on sinking tricky putts or casting a distracting shadow in their opponent's line of sight. Alongside the course, guests can peruse the farm stand?a joint effort between Putts & More and other community groups?to get locally grown flowers, fruits, and vegetables, or they can always nab hot dogs and candy at the snack bar.

With an All-Day Pass in hand, merrymakers can limitlessly enjoy Mel's Funway Park's go-karts, batting cages, mini golf, driving range, laser tag, and laser maze. Motor around Mel's go-kart track, which tests rubber-burners with tight turns and a bridge. David Ortiz admirers can emulate Big Papi in Mel's batting cages, featuring a replica of the Fenway Park's Green Monster and pitches from 45 to 85 mph. Golf gurus can tap orbs around two mini-golf courses, or sharpen their power-drive on the driving range. Show off your laser-firing accuracy or settle trading disputes with the Galactic Emperor Zorgo by dueling in the laser plex, where fog and black lights fill the futuristic arena. Mel's laser maze presents an electrifying challenge, as calm contortionists achieve victory by maneuvering around 36 beams of emerald light.

To understand the origins of Red Tail Golf Club's name, just look upwards: that's where majestic red-tailed hawks soar above the region. Down on the ground, Red Tail has soared metaphorically, with plenty of press and awards to back up its status as one of the state's best golf clubs.

The 18-hole, par 72 course embodies classic New England terrain with rows of maple trees, birches, oaks, and pines. Still, other areas are mnemonic of the coast thanks to areas of ample sand and tall grasses. Cleverly named holes help break up the course even further, such as "Bunkers," a chunk of land that was once populated with ammunition storage bunkers?some of which can still be seen to the right of the green.

Joyous sounds reverberate off the walls at Mason Recreation Center, a decades-old entertainment emporium managed by a staff committed to keeping its guests entertained. Pins clatter on dozens of lanes designed for candlepin bowling, a variation on tenpin bowling that uses smaller balls and cylindrical pins that are not cleared away between frames so bowlers can hear their faint screams. The staff engineers the fun activities, hosting open bowling, overseeing league competition, and throwing birthday shindigs in private rooms. On several tournament-size tables, billiard balls clack against one another, and in the onsite arcade, video games bleep and purr like robots napping on magnets. In warm weather, the staff unfurls an 18-hole miniature golf course and opens an onsite sweets station that serves freshly scooped ice cream.

Bryan Gatley, the co-owner of Fore Seasons Mini Golf and Holy Cow Ice Cream, sometimes personally scoops ice cream or frozen yogurt at the storefront counter. He chats with patrons or throws one scoop over his shoulder for good luck as he dispenses cool treats from nearby Bliss Bros. Dairy. For more than eight decades, craftsmen at the farm have mixed pure cane sugar with natural vanilla extracts to forge cool swirls for filling cups and cones. At Fore Seasons, happy shouts fueled by the sweets drift from the indoor mini-golf course and a vintage arcade with 35 different games. The building started out as a nightclub, and the course still retains some flair from its former life; black lights buzz overhead and glow-in-the-dark strips line putting greens and holes. A whimsical ornament embellishes each hole, from a traffic light that radiates caution to a lighthouse that guides golfers back to the tee like the weeping of a lost caddy.
