Since opening with a Frank Sinatra performance in 1990, the stadium now known as Times Union Center has seen more than 15 million guests pass through its turnstiles. That’s only slightly smaller than the population of the Netherlands and roughly equal to the number of people worldwide who enjoy candy corn. Besides attracting such entertainment titans as the Rolling Stones, U2, Disney’s “On Ice” series, and the Harlem Globetrotters, the multifunction arena is also home to the AHL’s Albany Devils and college basketball’s Siena Saints.

Meatball Comedy Stop travels to a variety of venues presenting standup sets during the night. But regardless of its latest resident bar, restaurant, or whoopee-cushion factory, it always brings along a brick-wall façade. It's served as the backdrop for a variety of national headliners. Audiences lounging in cabaret-style seating sip cocktails and munch snacks between chuckles.

By the eatery's own admission, the food at The People's Kitchen "is not fussy." But one look at the menu, which matches wines with such succulent eats as crispy polenta with roasted red pepper and parmesan and hearty lamb pie filled with roasted leeks and shiitake mushrooms, demonstrates the quality of its ingredients and the thoughtfulness that goes into its preparation. Continuing in this vein, The People’s Kitchen's in-house charcuterie program butchers and dry ages meat onsite.

The same attention to detail pours into the cocktails and wine at Citizen Wine Bar, a cocktail bar featuring classic and signature drinks made from a wide selection of top-shelf liquor. Order a Bicycle Clown and you'll be putting your trust in a Principle Bartender, who will tailor-make a new cocktail on the spot.

Dick Doherty's Beantown Comedy Escape has three homes: Below Howl at the Moon in Boston, New England Seafood Restaurant & Lounge in Methuen, and Park Grill & Spirits in Worcester. While the Methuen and Worcester locations bear the name Dick Doherty's Beantown Comedy Escape, the Boston location is known as Dick's Beantown Comedy Den. The Boston location recently moved to the Comedy Den from their previous location at the Vault, where they hosted standup comedians, including Dane Cook, who held a weekly gig there for more than a year, and fellow Boston natives Bill Burr and Joe Rogan. Dick Doherty's comedy clubs as a whole continue to detonate laugh dynamite with their rotating casts of national and local comedians.

In 2006, the NHL's San Jose Sharks moved their eponymous AHL affiliate to Worcester. During their brief time in Central Massachusetts the Sharks have helped foster some of the game's best talent, highlighted by Stanley Cup champions and first-round draft picks. Nearly 40 players, including Claude Lemieux and Thomas Greiss, have donned the Worcester sweater before getting the call to clean out their lockers and playoff beards and head to San Jose. The team has even been represented on an international stage, as several former Sharks competed during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance, numerous performances, and a scholarship to the Ailey School in New York City rounding out her packed resume, Lindiana Flores had more than enough reasons to open her own studio. With a blessing from Nola Borelli, who owned the studio where Lindiana started her dance career, Ms. Flores reopened it under her own name and now instructs a bevy of beginning, intermediate, and advanced students with the help of her team of skilled teachers. Each instructor encourages their students to find their own artistic styles, whether they're unlocking the pop-and-lock secrets of hip-hop dance or teaching pupils how to master the precise stomps and clicks of tap dancing so they can send secret messages through the floorboards to loved ones.
