Typically, yoga studios feature glossy wood floors and big windows that let in plenty of natural light. However, at Salt Yoga in Waikiki, the setting is anything but typical: the big windows are instead the wide-open sky, the hardwood floors the gentle waters of a cove. Even the mats are different; instead of standing atop flat beds of foam, yogis balance on specially designed standup paddleboards that float on the surface. Led by certified yoga teacher Peter Jacobsen, students paddle out to the designated spot before executing carefully planned routines while safely anchored in flat water.

Directors Emily Hodges and Stefan Kant both discovered salsa while attending college. They learned the art of salsa at several renowned New York dance schools, including Santo Rico Dance School, before both becoming teachers at Santo Rico. They have performed nationally and internationally, and now showcase their skills at Hawaii Salsa 101. Students with a desire to move effortlessly to the beat of the music or waves crashing onto a surfer's head can learn basic and advanced dance skills in a group or private setting. Social events on Thursday and Friday nights allows students to show off their newly acquired mambo, salsa, cha-cha, merengue, and bachata moves.
Superhuman Fitness owner and certified trainer Levon Basso helps clients reach their fitness goals through personal training and outdoor fitness classes. Group classes are limited to about 10 people, ensuring that each participant receives individual attention while undertaking full-body workouts. Rather than encumber clients with awkward weights and equipment, Superhuman Fitness sessions primarily use the terrain and clients' own body weight to achieve results.
