The second-annual Pumpkin Carving Festival allows families to enjoy a quintessential fall tradition while aiding local and national charities. Held at the spacious Neal S. Blaisdell Center, the event that attracted more than 1,100 attendees last year will again seat families of eager squash whittlers near each other for the festive occasion. During a two-hour carving session, groups of up to eight people bring their jack-o’-lanterns to life utilizing scoopers, pairing knives, stencils, and suggestions culled from the cryogenically frozen brain of Dr. Frankenstein. This year's Pumpkin Carving Festival's proceeds will benefit the ongoing community-building efforts of Hawaii Children's Discovery Center and the Keiki O Ka Aina Family Learning Centers, who use Hawaiian culture to strengthen familial bonds and literacy.
Pacific Junk Removal helps homes and businesses rid themselves of junk, yard waste, and unwanted furniture with speedy removal and free price estimates. Professional, uniformed technicians arrive at homesteads and office buildings to swiftly cart off any refuse, excluding hazardous waste, dirt, or other junk-removal guys who have camped out and refuse to leave. Pacific?s 12'x8'x6' truck allows its haulers to pack away electronics, construction debris, and storm cleanup easily in one trip. And, rather than simply dropping off unwanteds at the dump, Pacific Junk Removal donates useable items to Goodwill and responsibly recycles whatever it can before safely disposing of all other materials.
At Brothers Paintball, sharpshooters aged 10 and older equip themselves with protective masks, multicolored paintballs, and semiautomatic markers before exchanging colorful crossfire on the field. Players avoid becoming a work of art by weaving in and out of trees, hiding in bunkers, and ducking for cover behind wooden planks and boxes. In between matches, paint slingers can drink refreshments they've brought, lick their wounds, and brush elbows with the enemy at a table area.
