Color Me Rad stages 5K races that transform runners into mobile rainbows by launching cheerful barrages of colored cornstarch. Each color station along the racetrack flings a new, nontoxic pigment at passersby, who wear white shirts to enhance the chromatic onslaught's costuming effects. Brilliant neon-blue, green, purple, and yellow clouds dapple participants along the way, and the race concludes with a prismatic finish-line finale as sprinters chuck colors at each other in celebration. The race's noncompetitive credo shifts the emphasis from speed to silliness, and a portion of its proceeds go to local charities.

Upon registration, each runner collects a Color Me Rad T-shirt, sunglasses, sponsor gifts, and a race bib. Though they don't receive a gift packet, runners younger than 8 years old can sprint for free, provided they have a waiver signed by a guardian and won't give in to demands for gold from confused leprechauns.

Magic City Ballroom Dance Studio's experienced instructional feet ignite the dance floor with a variety of lessons that demystify the art of rhythmic motion for dancers of all skill levels. Dance styles such as the tango, mambo, and samba infuse hips with infectious Latin rhythms while the Viennese Waltz, the fox trot, and the lindy step add pizzazz to wedding dances or an expressive trip down the produce aisle. Not content to only host energetic classes, the studio also supports one-day dance competitions, inviting dancers to show off their hard work for a chance at prizes and statues of bronzed jazz hands.

The two-hour lesson begins by familiarizing divers with the essential scubaquipment, with an experienced instructor demonstrating how to prepare the gear for diving. Strapped on and strapped into the tank and gear, human merpersons will practice water entry, breathing through a regulator, dealing with prehistoric trilobites, keeping the mask clear, and just flippering around the pool. Dives take place in an indoor pool in the winter and an outdoor pool in the summer. A Professional Association of Diving Instructors–certified dive school and a member of National Instructors Association of Divers with Disabilities, ScubaVentures caters to the needs and goals of all divers.

AllPencilsDown's classroom and online curriculums are the product of more than 10 years of ACT- and SAT-preparation experience. Founders Laura McDanal and George Mizzell, both graduates of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, created the program after spending years tutoring students in college-exam level writing, grammar, reading, vocabulary, math, and science. Laura, a state-certified teacher with experience working with 11th and 12th graders, knows first hand the difficulties students face when preparing for important tests, and constructs the program's English curriculum to help ease their concerns. George, meanwhile, draws upon his experience as an electrical engineer and teacher to construct science and math courses that bolster students' confidence when approaching complex formulas or plotting the optimal trajectory for a thrown graduation cap.
