At the precocious age of 22, entrepreneur Linda Cesario started her own salon—but a fire soon destroyed it, and Cesario was forced to go to work for other salon owners. With time, Cesario gathered the courage to strike out on her own again, and she named her new salon Lighten Up as a nod to her career philosophy of always striving to lift her clients' spirits. Now at Lighten Up, Cesario is again her own boss, which means she has to email herself when she wants to play hooky and then confront herself when she does. She draws on more than 38 years of industry experience as she helms the salon’s dedicated stylists, who tame tresses with INOA hair color and products from Redken and Paul Mitchell. The salon also coddles appendages with manicures and pedicures, waxes away fuzz, and massages sore muscles.
The team of seasoned stylists at the boutique salon known as Blowout transforms customers with environmentally friendly beauty products such as Davines and Rahua. Cuts and styles can be complemented with signature blowout services, and the team performs updos for special events. While they sculpt new hairdos with cuts, coloring, and extensions, customers can peruse the staff?s past work, which hangs proudly on the walls. Conventional and airbrush makeup services are also available, including lash application.
Even though their brains brim with creative hair ideas, the stylists at Scissors Edge Salon resist applying scissors to hair until they?ve had a thorough consultation with each client. Once they?ve learned all they can about the client?s wishes and sense of style, they set to work updating looks with precision cuts, texturing services, and Wella professional color products. While the staff perform cuts, facials, and manicures, they attend to client comfort with complimentary beverages, snacks, and wine.

Salon Di Panache's Victorian turrets and inviting, wraparound porch give way to a shabby-chic interior filled with glittery chandeliers and plush antique chairs. If it weren't for strategic swathes of leopard-print fabric and the beauty products lining the dark-wood bookshelves, it would be easy to mistake the space for some kind of time warp. Pati and Andy, Salon Di Panache's owners, intentionally built upon the vintage charm of the old house, redesigning its interiors with studded manicure tables and purple velour curtains to put clients at ease and make any nearby ghosts jealous. The duo leads a staff of stylists, nail technicians, massage therapists, and an aesthetician.
Stylists refurbish hair with single- and double-process color and a range of hair- and scalp-conditioning treatments. The aesthetician soothes skin with Aveda's plant-based facials, back facials, body polishes, and specialty treatments, such as a rosemary-mint body wrap. The salon's massage therapists also express creativity with massages that fuse hot stones and botanical essences, as well as the Panache signature massage, conducted atop a heated water table.
From electrolysis to haircuts to organic airbrush tanning, there's a wealth of reasons a client might waltz into The Spa at Bella Boutique. A licensed staff, under the medical direction of board-certified Dr. Mohktar Asaadi, helps these visitors refine themselves both inside and out. Depending on each client's goals, aestheticians and therapists might administer massages with hot stones or evict unwanted hair. But perhaps their most versatile services are facials, which use products from brands such as Murad, Obagi, and SkinMedica eliminate imperfections such as acne or the deep wrinkles caused by sleeping on piles of laundry.
