While the staffers at Summit Dental Center treat patients of all ages, they go the extra mile to give kids a reason to look forward to their dental visits. A play area entertains young patients before their turn in the dental chair. After a routine checkup, cavity filling, or orthodontic session, they leave the office with a gift bag filled with toys, supplies for oral hygiene, and a spring-loaded trap for capturing tooth fairies. Summit Dental Center's professionals even spoke to reporters at Fox 26 News about different ways to help kids keep their teeth healthy during the school year.
When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
When I was younger, I loved how my mother’s beautiful smile could make everything better. When she passed away, I made it my mission to help others achieve this same unforgettable smile. I want to give my patients back both their confidence and health by providing them with a way to look their best.
Researches have shown that crooked teeth retain plaque (the mixing of food build-up with bacteria in the mouth), more easily. This can then unfortunately lead to gum disease, which has been proven to cause diabetes, heart attacks, and even premature births.
On the cosmetic side, people with better looking teeth are more confident. Having missing teeth, a gummy smile, in which lots of gum shows when you smile, dark or stained teeth, and severely crooked teeth can make people very self-conscious. At Stella Dental Care our talented dentists are able to give patients back their confidence. I love helping people feel better about themselves. The most rewarding experience for me is when my patients smile at me because I just gave them something to smile about.
The interior of a business can affect how its customers feel. What kind of decor do you use to help make your patients feel pampered and at ease?
Stella Dental Care is a modern dental office which uses high quality state-of-the-art equipment including advance sterilization, digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras, and a hi-tech teeth whitening process. The interior is filled with calming green walls, polished porcelain floors and beautiful large windows. We create a serene atmosphere where you can escape your busy schedule and relax while receiving the dental services you require. We have a kids' play area with giant teddy bears, a private whitening room, as well as TVs in all rooms so patients can watch any show or movie while receiving treatment. Along with our soothing and calming decor we also can provide nitrous oxide (or laughing gas) for our especially anxious patients!
What is one fun, unusual fact about your business?
One fun fact about Stella Dental Care is that we have grass inside ... in the kids' play area, of course. We also have a Nintendo Wii to provide further entertainment, so that parents can get their treatments while their kids play in a safe and fun environment. Along with entertainment for kids we provide access to a computer with internet in the lobby for all patients to use. We want to treat everyone as if they were an extension of our family, and we are more than happy to go above and beyond to provide an environment they will enjoy while they are in our care.
Anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
We chose Stella Dental Care as the name for our practice because Stella means "star" in Latin. Our slogan is “Stella Dental Care: Where you are the Star!" We want to treat all our patients like stars and give them the individual attention they deserve so that they walk out of our office happy, healthy, and with a beautiful smile.

Named a top dentist by H Texas in 2012, award-winning gum guru Dr. Ka-Ron Wade of Cosmetic Dental Texas is lauded for her expertise in veneers, implants, and orthodontia. Her combination of friendliness and technical know-how has been caught by the cameras of Great Day Houston, and her ability to fluently speak the language of tooth fairies has been chronicled in magazine articles. Advanced training and sparklingly fresh technology equip Dr. Wade and her team with the tools needed to gussy up grins with an array of cosmetic services.
Floss Dental's dentists and surgeons, many of whom are often featured on local TV stations, may specialize in preventative care, but they also beautify mouths with cosmetic- and reconstructive-surgery services, such as veneers, Invisalign, and dental implants. They harness panoramic x-rays to get a complete view of the teeth, and they broadcast these pictures on a TV, which helps them explain which treatments are necessary and to point out which tooth would look best with an inlaid diamond chip.
Floss Dental encourages patients to keep coming back by offering free Invisalign consultations and free Boost whitening once a year to those who maintain their regular cleanings. Flat-screen TVs and satellite radio entertain patients during their procedures, and sedation dentistry keeps them free from anxiety in a dream-like state.
Over the course of more than 25 years in business, GMS Dental Centers have established the kind of long-term relationships with patients that allow an office to thrive. The company employs many licensed dentists, hygienists, and dental specialists, as well as a former IRS agent who gets paid in people not yelling at him. Each location treats kids and adults to cosmetic, preventative, and procedural care, and dental teams also perform ultra-modern services such as Zoom! whitening, straightening with Invisalign, and installing quarter-inch HDTVs in incisors.
Dr. Billy Puckett keeps his practice open 12 hours a day, five days a week to cater to busy patients. He also ensures comfort during appointments with televisions, soothing aromatherapy, and warm blankets. Even in the waiting room, patients can enjoy free WiFi access and beverages. A special children’s area entertains kids with video games as well as a treasure chest stuffed with prizes and the crown jewels of King John.
