At Island Touch Therapeutic Massage, licensed massage therapist Ayesha puts her extensive training to work during each of her massage sessions. Formerly from Trinidad, Ayesha incorporates an island spirit in her work in an effort to help melt away muscle tension, curb chronic pain, and allay aches caused by bending over backward to make everyone else happy. She augments her massages with various add-ons such as softening foot soaks, invigorating salt scrubs, or slimming body wraps. She also infuses massages with soothing aromatherapy to relax the entire body and evoke an island paradise or a DMV covered in scratch-and-sniff stickers.

A Lotus Touch Therapeutic Massage's therapist kneads bodies into a gummy state of bliss with a one-hour head-to-toe massage. Working over the back, neck, shoulders, and scalp, the massage stops only to take a quick karaoke break before traveling out to the body’s orbiting appendages of the hands, legs, and feet. Stress, along with tension and pain within the muscles, pack their bags and head for the door as the therapist utilizes a variety of massage techniques to penetrate multiple layers of tissue. The massage also helps to relax the nervous system, stimulate circulation, boost energy, and locate the wedding rings that were swallowed in a double-dare at a PTA meeting.

After the combined stress and pain following an accident where she was struck by an automobile, Chris Ackermann wanted to help others avoid the kind of experience she had gone through. Hoping to offer a respite from the stressors of physical trauma, Ackermann went through the rigors of more than 700 hours of training at the St. Croix Center for the Healing Arts. There, she learned techniques in integrative, deep-tissue, sports, reflexology, and chair massage, among others, creating a multifaceted foundation on which to begin her business, Time to Relax. Today she puts her skills to work, customizing each massage to her clients' individual ailments, pains, and stressful fortune cookies from last week.
