It only makes sense that the auto detailers at Car Care are as mobile as the vehicles that they work on. Stocked with cleaning gear, their service vans travel around the Boston area before stopping at offices and homes. There, the detailers wash car exteriors by hand and venture inside to sweep, scrub, and condition all surfaces, including leather seats and miniature dance floors. Alternatively, the team also works out of four service locations. At these brick-and-mortar spots, the team replaces windshields, removes scratches, and executes all manner of auto body repair.

In its 12-week journalism program called Sisters Helping Other Unheard Teens (SHOUT!), Teen Voices helps young women to develop the skills to write about social issues, with an audience of 45,000 print readers worldwide. College-age female mentors guide teen editors as they write, research, edit, analyze, and think critically to craft articles about issues that affect teen girls. Teen Voices would like to support one teen editor for the duration of the program by providing journalism resources such as workforce-development information, media-literacy workshops, technology training, a digital voice recorder for interviews, and the use of a computer for typing and editing, as well as healthy snacks.

In the Boston area, Points of Light Institute will equip and mobilize volunteers with the tools and funding necessary to complete local service projects organized by Boston Cares. Volunteers will work indoors and out, on projects such as creating a chalk mural on City Hall Plaza and preparing library books for Boston Public Schools's libraries. Meanwhile, caring cadets in other parts of the city will transform an urban orchard into an outdoor classroom at Hennigan Elementary School, clear land on an unused railroad for a recreational trail, and pack medical supplies for developing countries.
