One A'Chord creates sweet sounds through instrument and voice lessons. Its instructors help students achieve their highest potential with a focus on technique and devotion to the craft. In addition to offering regular lessons, One A'Chord performs in local venues and hosts Summer Quake, a six-week summer arts extravaganza designed to help young artists pursue writing, music, dance, and other creative interests.
As a child, potter and instructor Linda Munoz unearthed her passion for the arts during ballet, piano, guitar, and painting lessons. Motivated by her spiritual beliefs, she fleshed out her creative side into a career when she founded Lambda Pottery. Her studio showcases her original stoneware, largely crafted atop the potter's wheel, and houses pottery lessons designed to accommodate all ages. The classes take place once or twice a week for eight weeks and hone in on students' areas of interest. During each lesson, Linda incorporates basics such as molding clay into dishes, trimming and texturizing, and affixing handles or rubber ears onto vases.
The stylists at Milan’s Hair Studio pride themselves on their talent and versatility. With a finely honed eye for personal style and a willingness to stray from the cookie-cutter mold, they fashion haircuts for clients of all ethnicities and hair types, embellishing each client’s features. Their ears do the listening as their hands do the work. Depending on the client's wishes, they customize coloring schemes that range from natural hues to dramatic tones. And on top of cutting and coloring, the stylists offer relaxers, fasten extensions, and apply keratin treatments that add a smooth, shiny luster to hairdos and bungee cords.
Referencing his 20 years of experience, skilled shutterbug Richard Maglievaz oversees digital-photography classes for artists of all experience levels. He ensures that whether they teach general classes for beginners or more specialized sessions covering lighting, aperture, or night photography, all instructors are field-tested and capable of being caught on film. Some classes venture out on field trips to such spots as the Houston Zoo, while others stay in the studio for technical lessons.
Local artists reign at Painting Above the Bar, where their work adorns the walls and their expertise is shared during BYOB painting classes. During each evening session, students grab supplied brushes and paints and create their own take on the lesson’s themed project, which ranges from natural vistas to holiday scenes. For a spin on the average party, the staff oversees private gatherings, after which all guests can take home their creations.
The business operates out of local indoor and outdoor ranges.

As a firefighter, it's part of Jason M. Tumbelson's nature to serve his community. Tumbleson Arms Co. sprang from this sense of duty, as Jason's fellow firefighters often sought his expertise on how to responsibly own and operate a firearm. Inspired to get an instructor's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jason now leads concealed-handgun-license courses at a variety of training sites. An admirer of firearms engineering, Jason also offers customization services.
