The team banishes frizzy curls with relaxers, adds shine with glaze, and elongates strands with natural-looking hair extensions. Across the salon, nail technicians polish and refine fingernails and aestheticians fend off attacks from irate bees as they employ freshly gathered wax to banish fuzz on lips and legs.

With a menu that introduces traditional Italian fare to a modern culinary sensibility, Adesso Bistro's chefs have garnered acclaim from a host of publications including the Vancouver Courier and the Globe and Mail. "Adesso" translates to "now" in Italian, symbolizing the culinary artisans' commitment to turning fresh locally sourced and organic ingredients into vibrant plates that carry the flavours of Italy's northwestern coastal region Liguria. Known for its capital city of Genoa, the seafood-loving region is dotted with small towns that produce dynamic takes on Italian staples such as foccaccia, pesto, and calamari. Adesso's owners line its facade with lush vegetation and accent the dining room with dark wood tables and chairs. Servers flit imported and local wines to tables dotting the outdoor patio among neatly trimmed bushes and the sweet sounds of the eatery's three squirrel tenors.

Elegant Hair Salon’s owner, Josephine, welcomes guests into her salon, guiding patrons to maroon styling chairs where stylists await to answer every coif concern using Aveda and Bumble and bumble products. Each station is outfitted with a selection of professional products that give stylists easy access during smoothing, straightening, and styling treatments. Stylists are well-trained in the art of adding multifaceted hue to locks while maintaining hair’s strength and sleekness. Clients can peruse the salon’s shelves to find the products used during treatments so they can re-create smooth, structured coifs at home without hiring an architect to draft bobby-pin infrastructures

Warehouse lights dangle from the high ceilings of Hopscotch Salon, illuminating the styling chairs and leaving guests with the impression that rogue designers snuck in at midnight to erect the upscale cutting station. More than 15 stylists hone their craft in the open area, along with a full roster of colorists, aestheticians, nail techs, and makeup artists. The crew offers haircuts, highlights, and corrective color, along with bridal updos and extensions. Stylists also carefully select product lines such as Oribe—which are scented with French perfumes—and Bumble and bumble—which are designed to be mixed and layered for custom hair effects.

At the age of 15, Becker Chicaiza, the future owner of Becker Salon, met a homeless man named Victor in his hometown in Ecuador. He brought the man to his family's home where he gave him food, clothing, and a haircut. Becker's family was impressed with his kindness, but even more so with the way the haircut transformed the man's appearance. Soon after, people in town began to request haircuts and women even asked Becker to color their hair. Spurred on by his success, Becker left Ecuador for Greenwich where he dedicated himself to his craft. Since then, he's made a name for himself in the world of fashion, taking second place at L'Oreal's 2008 Mondial de la Coiffure competition in Paris and working with Zac Posen and Jimmy Choo at New York Fashion Week. He brings all of this experience to Becker Salon, where he and his team of stylists help clients to achieve the looks they've seen on runways and in international airport-security lines. To create those looks, they snip strands and tint them with INOA ammonia-free color or Kerastase products infused with antioxidants. Additionally, a complimentary glass of champagne or cappuccino welcomes clients when they enter the studio.

David Sturtevant, owner of Indigo Hair Spa, draws on more than two decades of experience as he leads a team of stylists in designing shiny, fashionable hairdos. The salon is adjacent to the Trump Parc residences, where stylists work at stately wooden stations with marble countertops and full-length mirrors, and abstract artwork catches eyes as they look upward toward high ceilings and modern chandeliers.

To straighten frizzy tendrils, staffers reach for smoothing products and top off locks with moisture-rich Moroccanoil; they add depth in addition to shine by coating strands in Beth Minardi and Goldwell color; and renewing scalps and strands with products by Rene Furterer. The menu of services also extends beyond haircare with facials, body treatments, waxing, and makeup application.
