  • The B Boutique
For the past seven years, The B Boutique's owner, Jamie, has been traveling to Brazil in search of bikinis. Lately, she's been kicking through the sands and surf of Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana and Ipanema beaches or hanging around in São Paulo's Santos district. In these hot spots of South American beach fashion, she scopes out the latest trends, taking the best with her to hang from knotted driftwood racks at her boutique in Isla Vista. These colorful, skimpy bikinis bridge the gap between The B Boutique's retail and spa dimensions—in order to strut the bikinis with confidence, one must have a smooth, stubble-free body. In private rooms, Jamie removes hair with a "no-scream cream" that minimizes discomfort for very sensitive skin that always cries at the end of Bambi. To give clients a midsummer glow, she mists them with Bronze Biologic's tanning solution—an organic formula derived from beet and sugar-cane extract and aloe vera. To round out her spa menu, Jamie spruces up fingers and toes with luxurious mani-pedis, submerging feet in aromatic whirlpool baths and massaging hands before lacquering nails with professional polishes.

  • Campus Couture
Campus Couture's college garb fits fandom to womanly curves in an array of quality materials and team loyalties. Declare support with tops such as the Ohio State Buckeyes V-neck T-shirt ($42) or the University of Michigan track jacket ($62) for staying sporty in less-than-clement weather. Keeping the Wave going during autumn is easier while wearing a long-sleeve shirt ($46); the sizzling summer heat does not faze fans donning the Cassi tank top ($36). Should your favorite school not appear on Campus Couture's website, the company will try to oblige any request.

  • Twilight Teeth from Wish Boutique & Salon
Many dentists use a UV light to whiten their patient’s teeth, but only the beauty experts at Twilight Teeth reasoned that clients could use the same light to tan their skin while whitening their teeth. The UV lights of their tanning beds shine on bodies and illuminate smiles, comfortably held open by a mouth guard and coated in gel. The gel activates under the light and contains 25% peroxide—among the highest concentrations in the industry. Since the gel is painted on instead of held in place by a whitening tray, it can brighten high beams with minimal discomfort. Clients who can’t stay at the tanning salon can take home a kit, which substitutes a portable UV light or a mason jar filled with baby stars.

  • Destined for Grace
When Rebecca Costa-Smith took a church trip to Haiti, she never dreamed it would change her life. Edhat.com reports that Costa was deeply moved by the destitution she witnessed among the Haitian youth, and knew it was her fate to make a difference. Less than a year later, she returned with her best friend Lindsey Connolly. It was on that trip that the duo formulated the Destined for Grace concept. Destined for Grace is a non-profit organization that provides food and education for more than 125 grade-school children in poverty-stricken Haiti. As part of this continued effort, Rebecca and Lindsey established the Destined for Grace Thrift Stores, whose profits are used solely to fund their humanitarian efforts.
