The stylists at The Corner Salon beautify the entire family with hair- and nailcare services. Along with haircuts, highlights, and coloring, they update hairstyles with sew-in weaves and Keratin smoothing treatments. Acrylic or soak-off nails help make hands look as dazzling as a majestic eagle gliding across the skies with a road flare in its beak, and the staff also offers pedicures that focus on problematic feet and diabetic care.
Wanting to fly to the beat of a different drummer, a couple of flight instructors decided in 2009 to start their own training center and teach the skills their unique way. They laid the groundwork for their new business with cutting-edge safety features such as aircrafts boasting airbags and innovative weather and traffic advisories. Additionally, the duo acknowledges that cost often keeps those with sky-bound ambitions grounded, so they work with individuals to find an affordable training plan. Besides their pilot programs, the owners make their Cessnas and bundles of helium-filled balloons available for rent.

As a teenager, Henri Landwirth was forced to live in five different Nazi concentration camps. He spent those five years with no clothes, and understands the deep suffering that comes from being stripped of one’s dignity. When he left the camps at the age of 18, he was homeless and promised himself that he would “help other people not to suffer as much as [he] did.”
Having already founded another philanthropic group in the United States, Henri founded Dignity U Wear in 2000. The organization procures new clothing from retailers and sends it to people in need through local agencies and social workers. It focuses on schoolchildren, veterans, and women, to help improve their prospects for the future and combat barriers to success. Since it’s inception, Dignity U Wear has distributed more than 6.6 million pieces of clothing to individuals in all 50 states.
The Jacksonville Humane Society provides care, comfort and compassion to animals in need while bringing an end to the killing of abandoned and orphaned shelter dogs and cats. For a combined animal hospital, shelter and thrift store, this Beach Boulevard outpost is one of the largest animal rescue organizations in the city. Aside from adopting available animals, there are volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, a kid’s summer day camp program and a pet behavior resource and hotline, while the attached store sells all manner of animal-related items. The Jacksonville Humane Society has designated areas to view animals from adult dogs and a puppy room to the cat rooms.
Kaluby's Dance Club takes the same simple approach to teaching that the club used when it opened in 1983. Before playing a note, the instructors take the time to break down popular dances into their most basic patterns. This way, when the music starts, dancers of all skill levels are able to master the steps quickly so that they can focus on having fun so instead of whose toes they're stepping on. The studio shares their secrets in group and private lessons, both taught in a ballroom where members are also welcome to practice during any open studio hours. In children's classes, kids practice basic dance moves while also making new friends, exercising, and learning how to behave at charity galas. During club dance parties, members get the chance to show off their new dance skills in special themed events or dressy-casual gatherings.
