Begun as a catering venue, and later expanded into a full-fledged barbecue restaurant with a second location out in Baldwin, Treemendous BBQ in Herlong offers smoked BBQ beef, chicken, pork, sausage, turkey and ribs. These traditional and sufficiently meaty feasts can come in family-size dinners with a choice of two or four meats, and including sides like collard greens, corn on the cob, BBQ beans and mac ‘n’ cheese, which can be taken away or enjoyed inside the low-slung brick building. A spotted pink pig adorns the front of the restaurant, where murals of trees offer a nod to the humorously misspelled name. Inside, limited seating is scattered throughout, with little more than plain café tables to relax in. But what Treemendous BBQ lacks in ambience, it offers in true Southern-style BBQ flavors.
