After being diagnosed with skin cancer at a young age, Polished Skin Spa & Wellness Center's owner Yvonne Hubrich knew it was time to make a change. She altered her skincare regime, gave up her favorite tanning bed, and took care of her skin until it was healthy again. Along the way, Yvonne discovered a passion for helping others find beauty in themselves, which led her to open Polished Skin Spa & Wellness Center. Along with hairstyling and massage, Yvonne and her staff take care to educate each client about beauty techniques. After performing chemical peels, dermaplaning, and other skincare therapies, aestheticians help each person develop a personalized skincare regimen.

Led by Dozer, a certified permanent-cosmetics technician and instructor who received his first tattoo at the age of 13, the crew at Mystic Revolutions accentuate assets with permanent makeup, tattoo art, and piercings. In addition to creating glamorous looks and minimizing the tedium of morning makeup routines, Dozer's permanent treatments can be used to minimize the appearance of scars and correct skin discolorations. Before leaving, clients can augment their services by sitting for tarot-card readings, reiki treatments, or hair coloring.

Art Versatile

Skin is Anisha Kanakia Sanghani’s canvas, and her intricate masterpieces—henna designs, painted faces, and nail art—enjoy fleeting but beautiful lives on their wearers. She has been embellishing skin with henna—a paste made of all-natural ingredients such as lemon, eucalyptus, and coffee—for more than two decades, drawing from both traditional and contemporary influences to conjure her designs. In those years, she has decorated skinscapes at a bevy of public events and taught others to delineate whorls and loops at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts. The portable nature of her craft lets her practice at festivals, enliven girls’ nights, and visit study groups to etch palms with decoratively concealed chemistry equations before an exam. Although Anisha concentrates on temporary, cheek- and palm-sized work, not all of her handiwork has disappeared from this earth; she also applies her talents to murals, portraiture, and graphic design.
