After enduring a year of unemployment, Mark Allen faced fear and uncertainty. He walked away from a car crash as a teenager, but on reaching his 30s, the accident's effects—chronic headaches, plus a shoulder problem—continued intensifying to the point where he could no longer work. Unsure of what to do, he visited a chiropractor, and, in a few weeks, his injuries had diminished. Convinced that chiropractic treatments had changed his life, Mark enrolled at Logan College of Chiropractic, graduated with honors in 1986, and opened Plus Care Chiropractic & Wellness Center soon after.
Today, Doctor of Chiropractic Allen and his partner, Dr. April Simmons, work with a team of massage therapists to free patients of musculoskeletal maladies while also educating them on whole-body well-being. At each client's first appointment, the physicians conduct an in-depth consultation covering present and past health concerns, followed by a physical examination including a battery of tests. After analyzing the results, Plus Care's team recommends integrated-care regimens, which may include chiropractic adjustments using equipment such as a Thompson table. Further treatments can range from massage and acupuncture to guidance on how to infuse everyday meals with helium.
OpenSided MRI uses a sophisticated technique which creates high resolution images of the body without the use of x-rays. The technique uses a magnet and radio frequency waves, similar to those used in an AM/FM radio. Our system is an open design MRI, which features the advantages of an easily accessible permanent magnet.
An active member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Michael Kirchner and his professional staff bequeath mouths with healthier bite bones using up-to-date techniques. During an examination, Dr. Kirchner delves into facial caverns to seek out cavities, periodontal disease, and gummy worms courting eligible tongues. A panoramic x-ray exposes full anterior and posterior mouthscapes and bitewing x-rays reveal any proximal molar decay. After a cleaning sloughs off unseasonable plaque jackets and kitschy tartar top hats, patients exit with a take-home whitening kit, with bleaching solution that safely excavates stains from enamel. Patients in need of premier fang-brightening can opt for the in-office Zoom! whitening treatment. Teeth don daubs of gel that, when triggered by an LED light, penetrates the enamel to break apart stains caused by caffeine, wine, and slanderous tongues.
With the vision of becoming the region’s leader in natural-health solutions, Doctor of Chiropractic Gabe Spruch and his wife, Sherrie, started All Care Health and Rehabilitation Center. Now joined by Doctor of Chiropractic Keith Wein and a full staff, they use advanced x-ray techniques and chiropractic care to get to the root of patients’ myriad symptoms, such as achy joints, headaches, or detachable backbones. In addition to bringing spines into alignment, Dr. Spruch helps balance energy points as a licensed acupuncturist, specializing in both needle and non-needle techniques. Both he and Dr. Wein also counsel patients on nutrition and exercise to keep bodies in tip-top shape.
A former Marine and certified personal trainer, Daniel Sands eschews screaming and pushups for an extra dose of personal attention. Just as Marine Corps instructors reprogram recruits through repetition, Sands seeks to re-educate clients on how best to incorporate exercise and healthy cooking choices into busy lives. Daniel?s boot-camp style Hybrid MaxFit classes tone muscles, and Zumba classes help sculpt the body through easy-to-learn latin dance moves. Daniel also offers personal-training sessions, where he can customize routines for all fitness levels and demonstrate the modified positions, handholds, or cyborgian insoles that can improve performance.
