The Rat Pack members were known for their smooth tunes, charming personalities, and classic style. When they visited St. Louis, the quintet kept themselves looking sharp with trips to a barbershop tucked inside the basement of the historic Chase Park Plaza. Though the original barbershop is long gone, Cutters & Co. picked up the slack, and today its staff carries on the tradition at the original barbershop's location. Cutters opened in true Rat Pack style on Frank Sinatra's 90th birthday, providing the community with artful male grooming, including expert haircuts that come with a scalp massage, a shampoo, and a Sammy Davis, Jr.–mustache application. The shop's signature service encompasses a haircut, a hot-towel facial, and a chair massage. Guests are even encouraged to kick back with a complimentary beer from Cutters' fully stocked cooler of seasonal brews. Past brands have included Corona for Cinco de Mayo, Schlafly summer lager to kick off summer 2012, and Budweiser as a tribute to the Rat Pack's favorite drink.

And as if all these services in one place weren't convenient enough, Salon Edge has free parking.
A.J. and Allison had really important napkins. Over a few glasses of wine, the pair scribbled ideas and notes onto the normally disposable squares, and what began as a dream over drinks quickly grew into Poco Hair Company. Today, the ladies give hair the attention they once gave napkins, creating dazzling 'dos via cut and color services. Their irreverent decor engages the eyes of patrons as trained stylists expertly detach split ends, add desired layers, and remove stray pelican feathers for a variety of styles, from bohemian to natural to punk.

With more than a decade of experience in the beauty industry, salon owner and certified colorist Natalie Harvey gives her clients fresh, new looks with her hairstyling services. She started her career at a young age and soon found herself teaching other stylists her techniques. Now, at Arco Hair Company, she calls on these experiences to lead a team of such maverick hair experts as Courtney Bass. After training under acclaimed St. Louis stylists, Courtney steeped himself in the Los Angeles fashion industry, honing a sense for cuts and color that challenged the style status quo. Today, Natalie, Courtney, and the rest of Arco's style team create fresh new looks with Schwarzkopf Professional color and the GKhair smoothing system.
For 29 years, Samantha's Other Place's cadre of savvy stylists have anointed scalps with a menu of salon services for lady locks and man manes alike. A partial highlight rewards favored strands of hair for never clumping together into bands of seditious cowlicks before receiving a deep conditioning treatment and a shiny, new up-do. Humans of the male persuasion can receive a haircut and coax one of Samantha's skilled snip artists into molding scalp fuzz into the shape of a bulging bicep or power tie.
