Inside the lime-green facility, white drapes and soft pillows mirror the modern feel of the mosaic-tiled nail bar, which puts fingers and toes in the spotlight with a row of pendant lamps. While specialists dote upon extremities, guests can let their eyes settle on vivid flat-screen TVs, explore the contents of an e-reader, or access the free WiFi to create a social-media profile for a newly beautified big toe. For communal coddling, MojiToes Nail Bar also opens its doors to bridal parties and ladies' nights.

Helmed by Ellen Lillian, a master barber with more than three decades of experience, The Old Fashioned Barber Shop strives to return community and camaraderie to haircuts through traditional barbering. In her experienced hands, which have dusted the faces of Matthew Perry and Christine Baranski, brows become bolder and lips become fuller. Elysa's work isn't limited to faces however; mastectomy patients rely on her for repigmentation.

Elysa also exposes complexions' natural glows with peels, microdermabrasion, and candelabra hats. She applies makeup to prep façades for weddings and events and hosts private parties.In addition to being an official Laura Mercier makeup artist, Elysa is a medical aesthetician in plastic surgery and dermatology offices. She started out by training with Pamela Taylor––who's made up the famous faces of the Rolling Stones and Billy Joel––and apprenticed with Laura Geller herself, whose line of cosmetics bears her name in stores across the nation.

Though they have a brick-and-mortar shop, Elmo's Full Service Salon's stylists spend much of their time out in the community. They make convenient house calls and administer mobile makeovers at local hospitals and rehab centers. Whether on-location or within the salon, the stylists listen carefully to each client's telepathic ponytail and select the perfect combination of services. Aside from standard cuts and colors, the staff can add hair extensions, wax eyebrows, and sculpt nails during mani-pedis.

At Skin-A-Peel Laser Center, the latest innovations in beauty meet time-honored botanical remedies to craft smooth complexions and youthful exteriors. The licensed aesthetician and medical doctor on staff both specialize in anti-aging treatments and can administer cosmetic injections and laser-powered beautification treatments. Other services draw from natural ingredients such as seaweed, sea salt, and organic mermaid tears. Aestheticians can also perform seven kinds of facials and a variety of medical-grade chemical peels.

Barber tools are not toys. But even as a child, Dennis Marquez couldn’t resist playing with his father's set of barber tools in the attic, as he told Wellington the Magazine in 2008. This early admiration led Dennis to train at many prestigious hair schools including Vidal Sassoon in London. More than 35 years ago, Dennis and his wife, Kristina, opened the first Pizzazz Hair Design. The venture succeeded: their business has grown to include five separate salons, many of which have gained praise from NBC 5. Each salon’s stylists, armed with Redken and GKhair products, consult with men, women, teens, and children before revamping their manes with cuts, foil highlights, and hair-smoothing treatments. At the adjoining spas in three of the five salons, technicians paint nails with OPI polishes and cleanse skin with botanical-based Pevonia products.

To stay up to date on current hair trends, each salon's beauticians attend continuing-education courses and dissolve fashion magazines older than three months in jars of barbicide. The Pizzazz team also gives back to the community by donating a portion of salon proceeds to the Adopt-A-Family organization.
