Wine U Design’s mission is to educate the public about viniculture and help share fun, social experiences that hone in on wine's many facets. Infinitely more delicious than local bubblegum tastings, Wine U Design holds wine-tasting events, where visitors can sample in-house, artisan-crafted wines paired with carefully curated appetizers. Tour the winery, from the oak aging barrels to the pine fountain-of-youth barrels, and allow guest speakers to upgrade collective wine wisdom with informative discussions about the grape-sourced and festive beverage.
Every seat inside Canterbury's Oyster Bar & Grill gives diners the feeling they’re sitting inside a special kind of time capsule. That’s because all the surrounding walls are covered with historical photographs of Oyster Bay’s history. Because the restaurant has been around for more than 30 years, this reverence for the past turns meals into a timeless experience; diners may even eat some of the same oyster dishes that originally made the area a haven for seafood lovers. Guests will find the menu full of signature ocean treats, from raw and baked oysters done in myriad preparations to seafood towers that combine the likes of lobster, tuna sashimi, and other delicacies into shareable feasts. Filet mignon and parmesan-crusted chicken get all the same careful attention in the kitchen as the seafood, with careful presentations and bedtime stories every night.

It's not so rare to end up finding a gift for yourself when you're actually searching for a present for a friend. But for Gabe Haim, the gift he stumbled across was a home brewing kit that served as the cornerstone for a future business. As a beer lover, he was thrilled at the prospect of crafting his own brews. And just like that, Oyster Bay Brewing Company was born. With the help of his friend and partner, Ryan, the two guys embarked upon their beer-brewing journey with a feverish passion. Today, they craft a handful of beers at their microbrewery, offering tastings in-house or from taps around town. The brews range from the hoppy imperial IPA to the wheat ale, a summer sip best enjoyed with both feet in a kiddie pool.
From scary movies to haunted houses, Halloween entertainment often errs more toward the trick end of the holiday's trick-or-treat spectrum. Rise of the Jack O'Lanterns, however, embraces treats with its scare-free, family-friendly walking trail, which showcases more than 5,000 hand-carved and illuminated Jack O'Lanterns. Each unique piece is the work of local artists and sculptors, who spend anywhere from a few minutes to upwards of 20 hours on their designs.
Those images are arranged according to theme along the trail, leading guests past groupings of pumpkins carved with everything from characters on The Big Bang Theory to Tim Burton creations, all accompanied by corresponding songs. There are lanterns, floodlights, and a few fireflies just hanging around to illuminate the path.
