On any given Germano family vacation, Steve had his camera seemingly glued to his hand, capturing as many moments as he could. His ardor for documenting his familial outings lead to a career at a party-production company, where he emceed events and contributed graphic-design work. When the head of the company’s video department left, Steve rekindled his love of videography and delighted clients with his documentary-style edits.

Likewise, Franco Prete’s passion for photography began early, at age 15, when he served as an assistant at a major Long Island studio. Franco went on to publish in France’s Glamour magazine, appear on VH1, and snap the first known picture of a sunbathing owl. Upon meeting at a shoot, Franco and Steve quickly noted their similar styles and personalities, and soon after formed Studio 27. Together, the pair photographs and records a plentitude of portraits and weddings, accruing such accolades as a spot on the best photographers list in the Long Island section of the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards 2012.

Before looking through the camera lens, the expert photographers at Picture People spend time getting to know their subjects and establishing a strategy for conveying their personalities in print. Then, film-ready clients pose in the bright camera room, airing teeth amid colorful backdrops and creative props. Following snapshots, subjects make their way to the selection station to choose their favorite poses from their session, which may be treated with sepia tones, color accents, and decorative borders to suit any wall, wallet, wallpaper pattern, or trophy walleye.

Sam's Art & Framing preserves and stylishly showcases photos, prints, portraits, and memorabilia with expert care. Sam invokes more than 30 years framing experience to craft each frame by hand on the premises. Choose from thousands of molding and mat-board samples to enshrine a child's artwork or an overturned parking ticket. Framing options are virtually limitless, but as an example, about $70 can get you a 20"x24" frame with glass, backing and hanging hardware, and a basic diploma will run about $100.

Washington Square Art Gallery's precision framers preserve diplomas, sports memorabilia, and prints with custom frames, acid-free backing boards, and UV-protective and plexiglas that prevents keepsakes from fading. Specializing in custom framing, picture professionals craft plastic, wood, metal, and stone squares that average around $200 a project, depending on size, materials, and framed objects' ticklishness. Replace novelty kitten posters with a diploma framed in wood ($150–$225), and including a double matte, dry mounting and plexiglas. In addition to fencing in renegade memories, Washington Square Art Gallery will happily restore wilted photographs to their former glory. The helpful staff also delivers and hangs wall decorations at no additional cost, and on-site parking provides visitors with a safe place to leave their car or saddled ostrich.
