Casa Dante Restaurant's menu reads like a master's class in Italian cuisine. Drawing from the traditions of Northern and Southern Italy, Casa Dante's chefs cook ziti, fettucini, and every other pasta found on the periodic table. They then add classic bolognese, clam sauce, or a vodka-based sauce with tomato and cheese. The chefs also branch out from pasta, preparing calamari and racks of lamb.
Once ready, this food travels to an upscale dining room, with round tables topped in white cloths and bottles of red and white wine. Live singers, guitar players, and other musicians add to the ambiance on select nights. Nearby, a bar serves specialty drinks, as well as a more casual tapas menu with small plates such as sicilian meatballs.
In town for one performance only, The Fab Four—The Ultimate Beatles Tribute sends audiences on a time-bending trip to the 1960s soundtracked by the lads from Liverpool’s greatest hits and die-hard fan favorites. Emceed by an actor channeling Ed Sullivan, the multimedia production boasts a talented cast showing off their uncanny impersonations of John, Paul, George, and MacGyver. Live note-for-note re-creations of the group’s classic hits include renditions of “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Yesterday,” “A Day in the Life,” and “Hey Jude.” With three costume changes, the show covers the Beatles' developing style, from the early days through Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band to their brief stint as country band Uncle Ringo and the Hungry Blues. The touring production plays the palatial St. George Theatre, where the baroque furnishings offer plenty of murals, tiled fountains, and sculpted figures to keep eyes entertained before the show.
Traditional recipes meet contemporary inventiveness at Hoboken Dhaba, where seafood, chicken, lamb, goat, and veggies meet vibrant spices and house-baked breads. Curries include fish, chicken, and goat, whereas vegetarian and vegan dishes incorporate saffron-cheese dumplings, tandoori beans and lentils, and roasted eggplant, which sprout from egg hunts' unfound prizes.
Harlem Globetrotters Playing Three-on-Five
Since forming in the 1920s, the Harlem Globetrotters have continued to entertain millions of parents, children, and general basketball admirers with a trademark blend of athletic precision and razzle-dazzle showmanship. For the team's 2014 tour, a rotating [roster](http://gr.pn/PHdb6w) of Globetrotter favorites?including three female players?takes to the hardwood each game. Spectators might spot veteran guard [TNT](http://gr.pn/rOe0P4) sharing a behind-the-back pass with dunker [Quake](http://gr.pn/QTIGVh), whose high jump once cleared 7 feet, cruelly dashing his dreams of working in a ceiling-fan store. The Globetrotters might also present a study in contrasts with 5-foot-2 [Too Tall](http://gr.pn/PHdmPh) and 7-foot-4 [Stretch](http://gr.pn/1dYrbUt), the team?s tallest member. During each Globetrotters game, youngsters laugh along and witness the jovial jocks performing classic routines of unconventional passing and sudden transmutations of water into confetti. To infuse their visits with an extra shot of unpredictability, the Globetrotters also let fans in each city vote on special rules for every game; past rules have included the use of a four-point shot and the installation of a penalty box. Over the years, similar antics have followed the Globetrotters around the world, including to 122 countries and territories and all six continents on which basketballs grow naturally. The Globetrotters? extensive travels haven?t gone unnoticed: they?re one of the few teams to earn a spot in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as ambassadors of the sport.
