The Catskills B & B cradles guests in a historic 1898 Victorian home surrounded by the majesty of the northwest Catskill Mountains and an inviting community of art galleries, antique shops, and golf courses. In each of the 17 fully restored rooms, guests can cozy up to pieces of antique furniture and private bath accommodations. During the warmer months, early risers admire sleepy-eyed sunrises from the tranquil wildflower garden before taking advantage of a complimentary breakfast that includes pastries, waffles, fresh fruit, and herbal teas. With the third option of today's deal, vegetarian lunch and dinner meals continue to keep stomach furnaces well stoked with house-made soups, house-baked bread, and gourmet vegetarian recipes from throughout the world. Tension and vestigial dorsal fins are kept at by with a 60-minute kneading from a certified massage therapist, allowing guests to peacefully embark on ski and snowboard adventures at nearby mountains or covert birding missions on adjacent hiking trails.
After a revelatory trip to Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks in 2006, outdoor enthusiasts Laura and Alan Falk cast off the shackles of software careers to begin new lives as tour guides and planners. The pair created standard tours to introduce travelers to the area's local wineries, gorges, waterfalls, and historic towns, as well as custom tours that let natives and visitors design their own experiences based on personal preferences and hunches about the location of buried treasure. Past custom tours have included birthday scavenger hunts, bachelorette weekends, and private birthday celebrations with wine tastings. Experience! The Finger Lakes draws on more than 30 years of intimate local knowledge to create lasting memories in a thriving area replete with natural beauty, rich culture, and a captivating history.
Casual Elegance is how I like to describe Atwater. We are serious about our wine, but not snobbish about it. You can come in with friends and have a great tasting and then picnic outside or you can pick our brains and we can educate you about our area and business in depth. We will cater the tasting to your likes.
Every winter, the professional ice carvers at Sculpted Ice Works whittle and chip away at large blocks of ice to create Crystal Cabin Fever, an indoor, interactive display of expertly formed frozen water. In the event’s infancy, the exhibit was limited to a life-size ice cabin, but it has since blossomed to include a unique annual theme, live carving demonstrations, and an ice slide—totaling more than 100 tons of ice in all. In the fall, Sculpted Ice Works hosts Night at the Ice Museum, with ice sculptures and fall fun, and factory tours and a museum on ice harvesting are open year-round.

What was the inspiration for starting this business?
Stan and Joanne started making wine ... to carry on the family tradition of home winemaking, but they had a lot of learning to do as they went through the process. After years of experimenting at home, they tried making wine at one of the Vintner's Circle locations. They couldn't believe how easy it was to make wine and how each batch always came out tasting great. Joanne and Stan decided to open a location here in NEPA to share their experience with new and experienced winemakers here.
What?s your favorite part about your job?
We love spending time with our customers and helping them make a great tasting wine. It's fantastic to see groups of family and friends come in together and really enjoy their experience here, whether they are making wine or attending one of our classes or events. Stan and Joanne's favorite event by far is the Sangria Challenge. They love seeing how much fun the teams have in the trivia challenge and how creative the teams get in building their Sangria and designing their labels.
