Wine connoisseurs keep the shelves of WineStyles stocked with more than 300 vintages, many of which are rare or exclusive to WineStyles. Culled from large and small vineyards around the globe, the bottles are all labeled with their unique flavor profile so visitors can ready their taste buds accordingly. Amid the cellar's Old-World ambiance, connoisseurs pair visitors with wines to suit their tastes and help them customize gift baskets.
For the WineStyles Wine Club, the chief taster selects two vintages each month. When members arrive to pick up their bottles, they also receive the taster's notes, which describe the wine's region of origin and what the wine would sound like if it were a saxophone solo.
The creators of Cornstalk DSM promise it to be a "corn-tastic time." The corn-themed event celebrates Iowa's biggest—and possibly tastiest—crop. The festival is comprised of four distinct events: Cornball, Cornmeal, Cornucopia, and Cornholio. At Cornball, VIPs enjoy gourmet corn-based dishes and beer pairings before dancing to tunes from a DJ, while at Cornmeal, guests can sample bites of corny dishes from local restaurants and catering companies as live music from The Snacks fills the room. For corn purists, Cornucopia offers live music and corny awards with an all-you-can-eat sweet-corn feast featuring flavor-infused butters, and at Cornholio, 32 teams compete in games of old-fashioned corn hole (bags) and enjoy beer from Exile Brewery. A portion of the proceeds from the three-day event go to the Food Bank of Iowa.

It was a long, 18-month process rehabbing the historic Ankeny landmark. Finally, on October 16th, 2012, local couple Matt and Jessie Sims’ cut the ribbon on their very own Number 7 brewpub. The menu had everything they’d hope for––house-made beer and slow-smoked barbeque. It also had farm-fresh ingredients, sourced from local Iowa family plots. While dining on brisket or smoked spare ribs, diners may even catch Matt and Jessie gabbing about their long but worthwhile journey renovating one of the oldest buildings in town.

Since 2007, foodies have flocked to Iowa's Premier Beer, Wine & Food Expopresented by Hy-Vee each year to check out food and drink booths, watch cooking demonstrations, and meet chefs and wine makers. Guests explore more than 100 booths filled with samples of wines, craft beer, food, and cheeses they may purchase and store at a complimentary drop-off location until they’re ready to leave. Expo-goers may also enjoy cooking demonstrations and meet-and-greet sessions with local and regional chefs and brewmasters, including Dick Leinenkugal, Bruce Nissen of Crispin Cider, and more. Not to be outdone, local chefs share the secret techniques, ingredients, and facial expressions they use to make popular regional dishes.

They do this in two ways?first, through Dishcrawls, which are self-guided tours to an array of restaurants.
