Getting exercise shouldn’t be a complicated endeavor, and that’s why Yoga Theorie aims to keep yoga simple with three 60-minute class options designed for all skill levels. Instructors lead students through a synchronized flow of breathing patterns and poses during Vinyasa classes, and The Basics incorporates stretching exercises and strategies for comfortably hiding in the backseat of your favorite celebrity’s car. Yoga Theorie also provides a limited number of mats and other equipment.
Each of Pilates Advantage Hawaii's practice spaces brim with Pilates apparatus and fitness-minded instructors who train students and aspiring Pilates teachers with enthusiasm and attention to detail. Instructors cater to students of all skill levels by leading a spectrum of sessions that vary in pace and intensity atop equipment such as the reformer, the spring-loaded exo chair, and the Pilates arc machine. Students sit on stools then settle onto the floor during GYROKINESIS classes which stretch and strengthen the body in a yoga-based class of fluid movements. In addition to guiding small group classes, the instructors can help create personalized programs for students by conducting private lessons or overseeing independent practice times, which allow experienced visitors to use the studio's equipment without instructors or shoulder-mounted parrots monitoring their form.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We keep our class sizes held to a max number to ensure a personalized experience with plenty of attention and help. Our pride is providing variety, current training methods, creative fusion formats, and amazing trainers/instructors. We also foster a strong community through our Facebook page, and we encourage our clients to interact with each other outside of the gym. To that end, we create teams for obstacle courses and host social events while encouraging a cohesive and supportive environment. Creating relationships helps people stay motivated and connected.
Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts?
Yes, and its one of the things that sets instructors apart from one another. Our only rule is no explicit music. One of our trainers only plays Reggae in his boot-camps. It's one of the many things that makes our style at 360 unique.
What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student?
It depends on the class, as far as intensity is concerned. We offer a variety that ranges from high-intensity and muscle-exhausting formats to low-key, gentle formats. But each class is personal: students are noticed and called by name so they know they are important to us. We encourage modifications so that all fitness levels can participate while encouraging people to push beyond their comfort zones.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
We are the only facility on the west side of the island that offers functional training and triathlon clinics. Our classes are designed to create a weeks worth of total conditioning from our High Intensity formats, to moderate and no impact formats, Yoga, Pilates and Myofascial Release. We also offer 360 Strong only formats such as Ballet Boot Camp, Run Drill Class, Plyometric Training, Cardi Yoga, TRX Boot Camps and more. If someone comes to us for one week and attends four various classes, they will have been thoroughly trained from head to toe, working dynamically and holistically.
Pilates Maui owner Deborah Cassel and certified instructors guide guests through mat and Reformer Pilates classes. Additionally, the instructors teaches Pilates classes that are geared toward helping golfers improve their flexibility, balance, and coordination.
