During his over 20 years as a professional photographer, Adrian Vega has strived to inject excitement into his photo shoots. Although Adrian Vega confessed to PhotoShelter that he focused on weddings at the beginning of his photographic career, he always felt like there were moments worth capturing beyond nuptial ceremonies. As a creative exercise, Adrian refocused his lens onto boudoir shoots, and discovered he enjoyed coaching and encouraging his clients while collaborating with them to create empowering, intimate images. In his 1,400-square-foot studio, Adrian Adrian also harnesses his insatiable energy to craft sets, props, and gadgets that enhance each shoot, a dedication to his work that has earned him two consecutive first prizes in the Latino Art Bravisimo contest and a half-page spread in the French magazine Photo.
Housed inside a 2,000-square-foot townhouse studio, Belles Photo Design provides professional photography services and high-quality digital-image creation. Equipped with two large natural-light sets, years of expertise in fashion and entertainment photography, and a neighborhood filled with picturesque backgrounds, owner and photographer Kenzi Kay focuses on capturing creative life slices. Shots utilize dramatic lighting, new planes of sight, and the clever use of depth charges to carefully portray each subject’s inner and outer sheens. Budding models, teething babies, and pet rocks can strike a pose with up to five other people during the in-studio photo session. Weatherman permitting, photo opportunities may be taken in nearby outdoor settings as well. If you're toting a fussy baby, Belle's will be flexible with the length of the photo shoot and allow more time to complete it. Each photo shoot includes an in-studio proofing session and 15 retouched digital images.
Chelsea Alderman is an artistic jill-of-all-trades. In her spare time, she writes and directs comedy thrillers, relying on her talent for making "people pretty for a living." That sense of insouciant charm carries over into her wedding photography where macroshots of bouquets fit right in with candid photos of flower girls sitting on a church stoop during their state-mandated 15-minute break. Like her photos of nuptials, her portraits use almost impossibly vibrant colors and unexpected images, such as a young woman wrapped in Christmas lights, to dive beneath the surface and evoke a subject's personality.
With the aid of stylist Amanda Adams, photographer Hilary Hope captures the individual attitude and beauty of subjects in 1940s and '50s-style pin-up portraits. To lure the vintage vixen from her modern shell, Amanda pins hair into retro finger-waves or bouffants before painting faces in the classic black-and-white looks favored by 1940s starlets. A stroll through an enviable wardrobe of items such as vintage-inspired pumps, halter dresses, sailor skirts, and stockings completes the portrait prep. Spice up a single outfit with various accessories (included) or don multiple styles to showcase a menagerie of moods ($25/each additional outfit). Before the one-hour snap session, photographer Hilary coaches kittens in pin-up posing, boosting confidence with her comfortable, personable demeanor. With an array of backdrops and props, the photo session captures a selection of shots ranging from flirtatious to sultry.
