When chronically pained Charles Hung finally arrived at rolfing, it was as a last resort. The aches induced by a childhood injury had yet to dissipate, and physical therapy, massage, and other traditional treatments had little effect. But after just one round of the connective-tissue manipulation technique, Charles felt some relief. After a few more rounds, he found his usually stiff lower back, neck, and shoulders to be flexible and relaxed. He attained certification and now uses rolfing on clients suffering from chronic pain, poor posture, or other types of discomfort.
