Wolf River Trips and Campground offers kayaking, canoeing, and tubing trips that make use of the same feature that lends such natural splendor to their camping sites: Little Wolf River. The gentle, clear waterway winds through the property and away into wilderness, passing through gentle rapids and quiet drifting areas. Several spots offer a smooth, sandy bottom, ideal locations to hop out of a craft and go for a swim. Others provide a bit of bouncing through rapids, easy enough to navigate in an inflatable tube. The camp grounds themselves can house up to 124 visitors in tents and 64 RVs with full hook-ups, all over-looking a portion of Little Wolf River.

Brothers Aric and Brad Schmiling cultivated a passion for viticulture while growing up on their parents’ Italian-style winery. After moving to Green Bay, the duo set out to remedy the area’s winery deficit by founding Captain’s Walk Winery, where trained vintner Aric produces small-batch wines in water-bent French-oak barrels. Situated in a restored pre-Civil War building, the facility entices eyes with old-fashioned design features, including plaster crown moulding, an antique tasting bar, and a television from the eighteenth century. During the summer months, an on-site herb garden mimics the flavor and aroma profile of each wine, and a year-round tasting room offers guests an unpretentious glimpse into winemaking with laid-back tastings and a cellar viewing window carved into the wooden floor.

The sight of an airplane soaring through the air in the modern era is so unsurprising that most of us never stop to think about how tons of metal are even able to take flight. Not so for the technicians and trainers at Global Flight Research. Their bread and butter is getting folks safely airborne. They provide maintenance and repair for privately owned aircraft, as well as training for aspiring pilots. To that end, they employ flight simulators, especially when teaching advanced strategies to experienced pilots. In addition to the Red Bull planes that have a timed simulator course, Global Flight Research uses the Beechcraft G36/1000, Cessna 182RG, Piper Seneca II, Beechcraft G58/1000, and Extra 300 in their simulator. In that environment, students can safely take on dangerous situations, such as dealing with Upset or Unusual Attitude scenarios and the terrifying discovery that your co-pilot doesn't like Cheers.

Sometimes, seeing a city from the water that surrounds it gives you a deeper appreciation of its beauty. That's the approach behind Foxy Lady Cruises, a company that grants its guests sweeping views of Jacksonville from their perches on a luxurious yacht. From the various open-air decks, visitors can take in skyscrapers, bridges, and squirrels playing chess in nearby parks during dinner cruises, cocktail cruises, narrated cruises, and even weddings.
