The crown jewel of Hopscotch Festival Kelowna is the tasting hall, where guests assemble to sip, sample, and learn about a massive variety of premium beverages. In its fifth year in Kelowna, the festival will showcase an expanding list of more than 200 libations, which patrons can convert from a jingling fanny pack full of tasting tokens to sips poured into their souvenir tasting glasses. Domestic and international beers can quench thirsts in styles such as Val Dieu Tripel, Deep Cove Loud Mouth Pale Ale, and Howe Sound HopRaiser West Coast IPA. Tongues can taste the single-malt Scottish fruits of the Bruichladdich and the Macallan 1824 series, hailing from the Firth of Cromarty.

The array of draft beer and chilled wines at Woody's washes down a menu of classic pub offerings. While relaxing in the eatery's casual dining room, diners disassemble racks of ribs ($15) and cast anchors into plates of fish 'n' chips ($11). Idle molars can exercise around a sweet-chili chicken wrap ($11), prawns thoughtfully blanket a steak ($16), and bacon, mushroom, and cheddar toppings test the foundation of a burger ($12). Between bites, patrons sip ice-cold beer while shooting pool, watching sports on TV, or playing their kazoos along with the pub's occasional karaoke and live music performances. Though not included with today's Groupon, customers can also purchase their favourite wines and bubbly brews at the pub's on-site liquor store.

As members of the RJS Craft Winemaking Academy, Bayleys BrewHaHa's four stores supply all the ingredients and equipment necessary for burgeoning brew masters to craft their own wine, beer, and cider. Today's Groupon crafts 48 bottles of cider or coolers under the tutelage of Bayleys' familial crew, who assign each student a spirit animal to guide them through the process from start to finish. On-site facilities use 100% reverse osmosis filtered water as the base for flavours like apple, pomegranate, and hard cranberry lemonade. After adding and mixing all the appropriate ingredients, the base is bottled, stored, and mellowed with select classics of reggae. When fermentation completes about four weeks later, the ciders and coolers are ready to bottle and are 100% guaranteed.

Elephant Island Orchard Wines eschews the grape to concoct innovative wines from 13 other fruits. Before toting home twin bottles of 2010 Cherry—a dry red that pleasantly complements bold-flavoured meat dishes and meat-flavoured popsicles—visitors can try Elephant Island's other wine varieties during the complete tasting. Knowledgeable staff trot out a cavalcade of Elephant Island wines, including signature and special release varieties such as the currant-and-licorice-hinted 2009 Cassis, the memorable chocolate-accented Stellaport, and the wintry Fuji ice wine. Visitors can sample consulting winemaker Christine Leroux's audacious wines from within Elephant Island's unpretentious tasting room or sit and sip in an outdoor courtyard, where lazy tree shade and rustic patio furniture create an idyllic backdrop for swishing and sniffing.
