Since 1984, swim gym has work towards one goal: to maximize pool safety by making people comfortable in the water. Since splashing onto the scene, the facility has schooled more than 45,000 students?most of whom happen to have feet instead of flippers. Coach and director Robert Strauss leads the facility's efforts, having taught in Miami himself since 1973. But these days, swim gym spreads its teachings across a trio of South Florida locations, where students of all ages can boost their floatability during group or private lessons and fitness classes, such as Waterobics and Aqua Zumba.
Sensei Michael Cardoso, the head trainer at Extreme MMA, has more than 15 years of experience in martial-arts styles that include karate, judo, Japanese jujitsu, shoot fighting, and Brazilian jujitsu. At Training at Maximum Effort, trainers certified by the Russian Kettlebell Club lead strictly kettlebell classes to help clients burn calories and shed pounds. Experienced gymnast, dancer, choreographer, model, singer, and all-around performer Digo Padovan worked with a laundry list of musicians including the Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, and Shakira before creating the fitness and dance programs at Stardance FIT LLC. He leads a team of instructors who teach a range of dance classes, energetic Zumba sessions, and Masterclasses for advanced clients.
