Beneath the night sky's smattering of stars, Keno Drive In projects double features of the latest first-run films. Customers tune car radios to 88.5 FM or attach celebrity impersonators to their car windows to hear audio synchronized to the narratives unfurling onscreen. Throughout the evening, moviegoers can chow down on Keno Drive-in's concessions or dump their own charcoal into the theater's onsite grill to simmer feasts for friends gathered in the picnic area.

As of 2014, Dungeon of Doom has a new home in Zion and 42,000 square feet worth of space to scare the bejesus out of anyone who enters. Now sporting an underground vibe inside the old briquette factory, the renowned haunted attraction has been prepping Halloween fans for their favorite holiday since 1997. The new location is still populated by DOD's Killer Krew: Dr. Killpatient roams about searching for new victims, and Biscuit the Butcher readily awaits new meat to arrive inside the slaughterhouse freezer. Thanks to these characters and its elaborate attractions, Dungeon of Doom has become famed for its consistency. It also keeps its finger on the pulse of what fans want with surveys every season, which is much better than having the dungeon's deranged clowns knock on neighborhood doors with a clipboard.

Though you'll probably find some hints of Europe, make no mistake: Borzynski's Farm and Floral Market is an all-American affair. The family-run operation has been growing and shipping produce for nearly four decades, and in 1993, it opened its retail market to share its products with the local community. Today, the farm has quite literally grown to include a garden center and floral shop, as well as a fresh deli stocked with meats and Wisconsin cheeses. The property also boasts a charming cafe, where you can relax with a friend over lunch or gather vital information about the book you're writing about cafes.

The certified instructors at Scooter Tow Hang Gliding School have designed their curriculum to encourage potential students that hang-gliding can be for anyone. In doing so, they introduce beginners to the sport gradually by scheduling flights in the early morning and late afternoon—when the atmosphere is at its calmest—and having them start by only going 2–3 feet off the ground. Once they're more experienced, flyers can join the crew for organized brewery tours and the school's hang-gliding club.

Originally opened in 1927, the Genesee Theatre slowly deteriorated over the course of the century until its closing in 1989. But starting in 2001, a $23 million cash infusion from the city allowed 120 volunteers to restore the theater to its Gilded Age splendor. Its elegant trappings include authentic wall fabrics, an exact replica of the original marquee, and a 2,200-pound chandelier that gently spotlights the grand lobby and every audience member passing underneath to show how everyone is a star if you really think about it.
