For 23 years, the manager of Break Time Billiards & Sports Bar has been surrounded by the murmurs of friendly chatter and clacking of pool balls that define a billiard room. But unlike the style of a traditional billiard room, his serves hearty Italian-American fare from local landmark Carmine's Restaurant for groups to enjoy while they play. It would seem there are surprises around every corner, because far from simply providing billiards, the fully equipped, smoke-free establishment also boasts dart lanes, electronic games, and a constant stream of sports broadcast on the myriad big-screen televisions.
For all its extras, however, Break Time Billiards & Sports Bar still has the feeling of a classic, upscale billiard room. Designed by avid players and sports enthusiasts, the layout leaves plenty of room between its Diamond professional tables to prevent annoying collisions.
The vibrant blues, greens, reds, and yellows of The Oasis Cafe's exterior reflect the playful, casual vibe of the outdoor eatery's staff and menu. In the fresh air, bands take to the stage, and DJs spin tunes that send the locals into fits of spontaneous fist-pumping and working up their nerve to ask one of the potted palms for its digits. To complement the comfort fare—cheesesteaks, house-made burgers, wings, and hand-cut fries—bartenders pour frosty drafts or pop the tops off a selection of bottled brews.
The serene yogarie offers more than 15 different yoga classes, accommodating beginners, rusty practitioners returning after exhaustive time-travel adventures, and master yogis in town on layovers. You can mix and match from among the studio’s many options to find the perfect posture for you, or follow one class through six sessions. Beginners may opt for the Newbie Yogi You-Be course to develop their strength and flexibility before moving on to one of the more demanding courses, such as the noontime WiserEnergizer, which revives work-slumped students, or the fast-paced Kundalini Rising course, which revitalizes the body’s organs for better health and super powers.
