It seems that there's always something new brewing inside 1288 North High Street. Followers of North High Brewing on Facebook, Twitter, or the Pony Express know that the company often releases new beers at their tap room, where more than 30 currently grace the rotating tap list and 10 lucky selections flow on draft at any given time. Bartenders might pour a West Coast IPA or oatmeal stout, which stand proudly on their own or pair well with food from the nearby kitchen. Of course, if the beer you want is out rotation, there's always the option to make something yourself. North High Brewing lets anyone become a brewmaster for a day and craft Russian imperial stout, Belgian blonde, or other selections using the facility's brew-on-premises equipment. The staff walks newbies through each step; when more experienced brewers visit, staffers also sell home-brewing supplies.

Founded by dedicated hobbyists with a love for visiting wineries around the country, Good Vibes Winery brings the vineyard experience into uptown Westerville, operating an urban space dedicated to recreating the laid-back tastings usually found outside the city limits in conventional wine regions. Within a building on the historic Robinson Block, the spacious and comfortable tasting room greets guests with music and exposed brick and wood accents, helping visitors feel relaxed. From high tables or a welcoming bar and at their own leisure, guests can sample a selection of more than 20 small-batch vintages, each of which pairs readily with available cheese plates. To further enrich the experience, carefully chosen music helps groups wind down during a visit, and all of the wines are named after the owners' favorite classic hits. Clients can even charter the winery to produce wines of their own design that also bear custom labels.

For generations, the Pfeifer family tilled the soil?originally tending to the land as Midwestern farmers after the Civil War. Even though the family eventually traded in the farm, these agricultural roots still run deep. At Hidden Lakes Winery, they tap into this instinctual knowledge of fruits and cultivars to create a host of wines made from grapes sourced from around the United States. Glasses of light riesling or heady pinot noir in hand, guests often pair their sips with the onsite caf??s bistro-style cuisine. There, the kitchen boasts a full menu of Tuscan-inspired appetizers, artisanal pizzas, entrees, and desserts.

Permeated with casual elegance, The Wine Gallery festoons its eclectic menu with classic bistro fare in the form of flavorful salads, soups, sandwiches, and specialties. Let the nibbling commence with starters of chips, dips, spreads, breads, and more, such as the cheese plate, a tour de fromage sidekicked by gourmet crackers and olives ($9), or its smokehouse doppelgänger ($9). Like a whole-wheat aqueduct, the mushroom-spinach pizza siphons a steady stream of silver-dollar mushrooms, mozzarella, feta, and provolone ($8). Chew through an English hedge maze of panko-coated eggplant caprese salad, with mozzarella, tomato, and basil ($5 half, $9 full), then celebrate victory with the succulent, spice-rubbed prime-rib sandwich ($8) or Italian basil-chicken sandwich ($8).
