A journey around the world, testing and traversing the waters of many lands, eventually brought the husband-and-wife owners of NeverDry Divers to Hawaii. Mike and Jen got their first taste of professional scuba training on the island of Koh Tao in Thailand, where they discovered their love for diving and underwater videography. Searching the globe for a new land to develop their skills, they ended up in Bocas del Toro, Panama, where they earned their PADI instructor licenses, married, and had a son. Not long after their son was born, they headed to Hawaii, where they now provide basic to advanced scuba instruction and lead underwater excursions around the beautiful coastline.
Endless Adventures Hawaii combines water-equipment rentals with a knowledge of local breaks and secret spots to create memorable experiences. Its kayaks, standup paddleboards, surfboards, and snorkels get people out in the salty blue. For those who prefer a guided expedition, tours explore the Mokulua twin islands, which are protected as a bird sanctuary, and Kailua Beach. Guides also lead snorkeling expeditions around Lanikai to spot coral reefs and sea-turtle habitats and set out under the stars on a Glow Paddle tour with paddleboards equipped with LED lights to illuminate the water.
At Brothers Paintball, sharpshooters aged 10 and older equip themselves with protective masks, multicolored paintballs, and semiautomatic markers before exchanging colorful crossfire on the field. Players avoid becoming a work of art by weaving in and out of trees, hiding in bunkers, and ducking for cover behind wooden planks and boxes. In between matches, paint slingers can drink refreshments they've brought, lick their wounds, and brush elbows with the enemy at a table area.
Humdinger Sportfishing's resident skipper, Jeff Fay, brings more than 40 years of deep-sea-fishing experience aboard his 37-foot fishing vessel. Passengers command the boat's supply of sturdy Penn International rods and reels, which can withstand the prodigious strength of tuna, blue marlin, and seahorses riding land horses. A proponent of conservationism and catch-and-release fishing, Jeff lets fishers take home their hard-fought nautical prizes but confers extra environmental brownie points on those who tag and release their catches, which helps to preserve populations and aids local research efforts.

The sunlight bathed, palm-fortified fairways of the beautifully landscaped Kaanapali Golf Course wend around the slatted windows of Paradise Grill, filling each portal with greenery backed by sunsets and rolling ocean. It's a stunning venue in which to enjoy some casual island culture. A high-vaulted diagonal ceiling stretches overhead, lending the eatery a modern feel. The first-floor bar boasts 11 flat-screen TVs and a quieter, second-floor dining room is where guests slice into ocean-fresh fish or pull gooey slices of handmade Round Table pizzas. The chefs whip up breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night meals affectionately called Buenas Noshes.
