Abington Kids Creative Arts Studio's lively instructors foster the burgeoning minds of youngsters with classes focused on building creativity and imagination. The team allows little ones aged 4–14 to disconnect from their phones, computers, and robot teachers to engage in fun, hands-on activities during afternoon open sessions.
Two-hour sessions allow kids to express themselves artistically and exhaust internal sugar reserves through drawing, molding pottery, playing music, and acting in theater performances. My Adult & Me sessions invite grown-ups to stay-and-play with their children, while the Drop Off Program's extended studio hours free up time for parents to run errands or triathlons. As children exercise their brain biceps, adults can relax and indulge in complimentary coffee and tea.
Abington Kids Creative Arts Studio also hosts summer camps to occupy up to 15 youngsters at once when school is on break and their Miami beach house is being renovated. Weekly themes range from Fantasy Week to Music Week to Puppet Week, each filled with crafts and fun projects.
In 1953, Rabbi Mortimer J. Cohen commissioned famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright to design the Beth Sholom Synagogue, which remains the only synagogue he masterminded during his illustrious career. Listed as a national historic landmark in 2007, the Beth Sholom Synagogue draws visitors with its unique construction and educational visitor center, which is nestled in one of the synagogue's social spaces. The visitor center allows guests to acquaint themselves with Wright's creative process and partnership with Rabbi Cohen through interactive kiosks, displays of Wright's architectural sketches, and excerpts from the pair's online chat logs.

At Premier Martial Arts, students of all backgrounds train in self-defense, combat sports, and martial-arts-based fitness. Kids ages 3–12 earn colorful belts to mark not only their mastery of martial arts techniques, but also their demonstrations of character. Teachers also provide belt-free training for adults in arts like Krav Maga—developed for the Israeli Defense Force—and kickboxing, which incorporates both Western boxing techniques and the knee and elbow strikes of Muay Thai, the official fighting form of Thailand’s postmen. To supplement each fighter’s striking game, the instructors offer classes in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which uses throws and takedowns to bring fights down to the ground, where joint locks and choke holds can be applied to great effect. They round out the combat curriculum with the weapon techniques of Kali, a lightning-fast form of stick and blade fighting that hails from the Phillipines.
This blended training methodology arms students for self-defense as well as kickstarts careers in professional fighting. Elite affiliates include such UFC names as Kurt Pellegrion and Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro.
Unlike the competitive environment of a testosterone-stuffed gym or mixed-martial hopscotch tournament, boot camp encourages all ages, skill levels, and abilities to motivate each other in a comfortable group setting. The certified trainers at Doylestown and Great Valley constantly challenge participants to achieve higher levels of fitness. Classes take you through different workout routines each day, with a variable variety of body-blasting, calorie-pulverizing exercises, including jogging, strength training, core conditioning, yoga, Pilates, and obstacle courses. You'll shed inches, pounds, and existential funk. Classes run five days a week starting at 5:30 a.m. at the Doylestown and Montgomeryville locations, with Doylestown also offering 9 a.m. sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. From November to March, winter sessions take place in Lahaska at Buckingham Friends School. Great Valley Boot Camp offers a similar booty-busting program with both co-ed and women's-only classes offered most mornings.
Founded in 1977, Huntington Learning Center employs a battalion of highly trained tutors who help students succeed both at school and in standardized testing. The academic evaluation, consisting of exams performed in a simulated classroom environment, yields a comprehensive collection of data that tutors use to design a custom learning program and a personalized, in-class obstacle course.
The Handwork Studio's teachers and professional artists give creative kids a fun, hands-on introduction to expressing themselves with craft and needlework projects during each of its many monthly workshops. Crafty meetings of A Snip-It of Sewing and A Touch of Handwork combine a smaller class size with a curriculum that accommodates children of all ages, except Faulknerian man-children with nonlinear senses of time. As crafters learn to machine stitch simple projects such as pajama pants or stuffed animals from a colorful collection of provided fabrics, yarns, and tools, simple instructions and friendly teachers free kids to make friends and unleash creativity. With six months to use their Groupon, petite purlers can attend multiple workshops, bedecking homes in holiday décor from Halloween until March Madness. Siblings or besties can also opt to attend a single workshop together, gifting parents a gaggle of holiday ornaments or knitting matching friendship turtlenecks.
