Shane Hoefsloot devoted more than 25 years of his life to working as a registered nurse in more than 15 hospitals spread across three different countries. These decades of experience sparked his passion for discovering holistic treatment modalities, which, unlike traditional medical procedures, focus on restoring a sense of balance to the body and treating symptoms as well as their underlying causes. This holistic approach forms the basis of Shane's philosophy at Wellness Northwest. Using computerized scanning devices, Shane and his staff take clients' bioenergetic readings, searching for the sorts of imbalances that can interfere with the body's normal function and can even facilitate the onset of illnesses. Wellness Northwest's team strives to correct these imbalances by using everything from plant stem cell treatments to pulsed magnetic therapy, which jump-start the body at the cellular level and help restore the unhampered flow of its natural energies. On Tuesday evenings, members of the Woodinville Square Crows convene to do-si-do the evening away. Founded as a non-profit dedicated to spreading the fellowship of square dancing one call at a time, the club stages its welcoming dances in a quaint studio with wooden walls, wooden floors, and white draperies on the windows. The crowd is typically multigenerational, and the mood is lighthearted as partners spin through the social dance. Organized into "squares" of four couples each, dancers follow the whims of the caller, who choreographs the dance on the fly by calling out the names of simple dance moves to form ever-shifting formations and patterns. Emphasizing cooperation and attentiveness over foot placement and weight shifting, each dance is the unique product of its participants camaraderie and creativity; in fact, no two are alike.
The club sponsors a 16-week program of lessons, with the first eight weeks dedicated to basic moves and the second eight weeks dedicated to linking those moves with additional connecting moves. In addition, the Woodinville Square Crows also spread the love of the dancing with parties held on the first and third Friday of each month, and even organize caravans to the dances hosted by other area clubs to foster fellowship in the larger square dance community.

Players perform their feats of athleticism in one of six indoor batting tunnels and on pitching mounds.
Rijo's athletic complex, which spans eight acres and includes a 9,000-square-foot indoor facility and an all-weather turf field, also hosts group clinics for other sports, including soccer, football, golf, and swimming. Its full weight room is designed for sport-specific training.

Though he once dreamed of becoming an astronaut, Christopher Hagedorn instead found his passion on the Earth; he's worked as a national forest hydrologist, oceanography-engineering consultant, and mountaineering-and-wilderness-leadership instructor. After roaming the country on more than 30 extended wilderness trips, he came to rest in the North Cascade Mountains where he leads adventure day trips and wilderness-skills classes. He and his team of experienced guides lead explorers of all ages on Family Adventure Backpacking trips to secluded and mostly unknown destinations, tackling rocky beaches, mountain hillsides, and coniferous forests.
On mountaineering trips, Get In The Wild shows groups how to traverse North Cascades National Park's rugged peaks, roaring waterfalls, and glaciers without having to arm-wrestle bears for passage. Canyoneering trips explore the Dirty Devil River and Capitol Reef National Park, navigating historic sandstone cliffs, rocky domes, and winding canyons; and give photographers the chance to focus their lenses on the wilderness of Southern Utah. Throughout their adventures, the guides keep their charges fueled with gourmet camp food, preparing vegetarian, vegan, and kosher options upon request.
They also lead classes in hiking, glacier climbing, snow camping, canyoneering, and wilderness navigation to help adventurers blaze their own trails.
