Dr. Paul S. Taxin wasn't content with being your average dentist. After graduating dental school, completing a residency, opening his practice, and becoming a member of eight different organizations for dental professionals, he still wasn't done. He went on to become a fellow at LVI, an institute that teaches continuing-education classes, courses on the most advanced dental procedures, and that laughing gas is no laughing matter.
When Dr. Taxin isn't busy giving lectures, he's performing the full spectrum of dental services at his practice. Backed by a team of dental assistants and hygienists, Dr. Taxin tackles general dentistry, cosmetic procedures, laser dentistry, sleep apnea, TMJ therapy, and gum disease.
The dentists at West Avenue Dental strive not only to improve patients' oral health, but also to teach them to maintain their glowing smiles at home. An initial exam—cleaning, x-rays, and charting—helps dentists diagnose any issues and plan the proper treatment. They provide several preventive and reparative treatments, including extractions, sealants, root canals, and dentures. They also enhance the appearance of teeth with whitening and Invisalign straightening.
Dr. Khorram has spent the last 20 years perfecting smiles and keeping mouths healthy. As a prosthodontist, he specializes in bridge treatments, implant-supported crowns, porcelain laminates, and teeth whitening. He attributes his eye for detail not only to his dental schooling but also to his love of painting and sculpture, believing his practice to be an artful one, as well. Aside from cosmetic procedures, Dr. Khorram provides family care as well as services such as Invisalign clear braces and the treatment of gum disease.
The trio of dentists at AAA Rockland Dental specialize in general and cosmetic procedures that keep teeth healthy and beautiful. They work hard to make exams, cleanings, and other services as comfortable as possible for patients of all ages.
As a teenager, Dr. Stacie Calian worked as an assistant in several dentists’ offices, which inspired her to later work as a dental hygienist and earn two masters degrees from Columbia University. From there, she left the practice to join academia, but she couldn’t resist the siren song of the dentist’s drill; soon after, she received a doctoral degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry and amassed more than 18 years of clinical experience. Now, at her office, Dr. Calian and her team of smile stylists use a variety of high-tech instruments—from digital x-rays to Zoom! whitening lights and lasers that penetrate teeth without the heat, vibration, and pressure of the typical tiny chainsaws. Within a spa-like atmosphere, the staff performs services including Invisalign, Lumineers, and dental implants—procedures Dr. Calian is always looking to improve by furthering her training through continuing education.
After earning her degree in dentistry at New York University and completing her residency, Dr. Michele Leone-Renne spent a year using her skills to treat underprivileged children in the South Bronx. These days, she continues to care for patients' teeth at her practice. Dr. Leone-Renne also helps patients to look their best with treatments such as porcelain veneers or injections of Botox.
