A family owned company for over 30 years, Gro-Rite displays 160,000 square feet of greenhouse growths and accompanying garden accessories. Deck halls, the rooms they connect, and the people within those rooms, with bright poinsettia blooms or traditional boughs of holly. Families can finally balance out the feng shui of the living room by placing a seven-foot Fraser Fir in the middle of it, or grab a string of 100 mini lights ($4.99) and a 10” Balsam wreath ($7.99) to make elf-grabbing lassos, ensuring year-round household help.
Dennis Coyle didn't wait until after he had earned his applied-sciences degree to embark on his career: he founded DC Landscape Design & Construction in his sophomore year of college. He combined engineering know-how with knowledge gleaned from horticultural classes and years of work in a garden center and never doubted his capability to succeed in the landscaping business—perhaps because he wasn't the first Coyle to start so young. His father, Douglas Coyle, also transitioned straight from school to managing Delaware Valley Landscapers.
With an eye for outdoor aesthetics, Dennis beautifies lawns with an armory of mowers, aerating tools, and organic products. His botanical knowledge and detailed CAD plans help him avoid common landscaping mistakes, such as placing a young tree too close to a house or too far from its wailing mother. This understanding ensures an almost perfect survival rate for his relocated greenery.
At any given time, more than 200 pieces of unfinished ceramics can be found on the shelves at Brushes & Bisque. Though the pieces will soon find use as coffee mugs, dinner plates, and jewelry boxes, they still require a final glaze before they can hold treats or treasures. During classes for kids and adults, painters work with provided tools and materials to coat the pieces with an artistic touch.
In addition to pottery painting, Brushes & Bisque offers clay classes, also with provided tools and materials. Kids’ clay classes cover the basics of coiling, pinching, and glazing, and adult pottery classes equip sculptors with a pottery wheel.
More than 500 different moulding choices line the walls at Picture Framing Warehouse, with some showing off their versatility around framed guitars, posters, and sports jerseys. In addition to showcasing the memorabilia, these frames highlight the careful and precise work performed by the warehouse’s veteran framing staff. Staffers put their decades of collective experience to use on every job, enhancing and preserving artwork and certificates or using museum-quality materials to protect heirlooms from Iron Age ancestors.
