RescueCats, Inc. is a no-kill group dedicated to caring for homeless and owner-surrendered cats. While cats are waiting to be placed in loving, permanent homes, volunteers provide them with shelter and any necessary medical care, including spay or neuter procedures to prevent pet overpopulation and special supplements for those with feline leukemia virus. They also host weekly adoption fairs at PetSmart to increase each cat’s chances of being adopted. During its 13 years of operation, RescueCats, Inc. has found loving homes for more than 5,700 cats and kittens.

In support of her high-decibel new album, Rihanna kicks off her hotly anticipated LOUD tour with emphatic gusto and a sizzling roster of special guests. Like an art show at a sundae bar, the LOUD tour floods the senses, enchanting audiences with lavishly designed sets, myriad costume changes, move-busting dancers, and Rihanna's songbook of Grammy magnets. Crooner Cee Lo Green augments the songful offerings with his own vocal talents, and Roc Nation rapper and rhythm scientist J. Cole further helps resuscitate ear drums traumatized by the outside world's blaring car horns and shrill howler monkeys.
Sprawled across a huge field in Fairburn, roughly 13 miles southwest of the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, the festival teems with life, noise, and the PG-13 debauchery of nearly 1,000 costumed rakes, harlequins, ne'er-do-wells, knights, wenches, and the ever unpredictable royal treasury accountants. Catch jousting, falconry shows, and surprise inquisitions to make sure you're having a good time. Take up a sword and have a blast repressing the local Irish, or dress up your niece and nephew for a crusade to bring endless laughter and good times to frowny infidels. On the weekend of April 24 and 25, visitors can enjoy Irish dancing and a highlander pipe-and-drum band, while on Mother's Day weekend (May 8 and 9), the first 100 moms through the gate will receive free flowers.
From a chic, late-night soiree to a lively kids' birthday bash, the planners at Perfect Parties execute events for both adults and children. Adults' parties may include dancing, hors d'oeuvres, and cakes celebrating new babies or finally finding the perfect hairstylist. Kids' parties, on the other hand, exude fun and whimsy. That might mean cupcakes adorned with edible lipstick and eyeshadow palettes or a party table decked out like a car garage.
Reports of strange sights abound near a simple brick building just off the leafy avenues of Avery Park. Some people share stories of a no-frills grill permeated by the smell of juicy steaks and charbroiled burgers, and others tell tales of a hall resounding with music from live bands, laughter, and clinking glasses. These visitors haven’t entered a time warp—they’ve simply found Jekyll & Hyde's, a pub that leads a double life as both a purveyor of hearty eats and nightlife excitement.
Named for the famous short story by Robert Louis Stevenson, the pub celebrates the author’s little-known second career as an artisanal burger chef with specially seasoned beef patties decorated with jalapeño bacon and American cheese. Visitors settle in cozy booths of tufted brown leather to munch on Mr. H's special steak sandwiches or share baskets of chicken fingers, or they can head to the full bar to fix their eyes on the drama of games unfolding on multiple flat-screen TVs. In a separate poolroom, billiard balls clack and clatter over the green felt of nine tables, and players eye their next shots over frosty glasses of beer.
Presented in part by Dan Clark, also known as Nitro, of American Gladiator fame, the Gladiator Rock'n Run 6K pairs an obstacle-heavy running course with post-race entertainment, including beer, music, and food. Six kilometers’ worth of collective scampering awaits participants as muscle-testing obstacles impede progress to the finish line. Those prepared to race must dance through tires, army-crawl through mud, and clamber up rope ladders to avoid barrels thrown by giant apes. The roar of spectators rings throughout the course as bystanders cheer on runners to inspire strong finishes. Gladiator Rock'n Run proceeds go toward a good cause, helping to raise money for TACA (Talk About Curing Autism), an organization that provides education, support, and information to aid parents in helping their children diagnosed with autism.
